Never use screw in spikes over 1/2". Just buy FG cleats even if playing in soft ground. I play American football and I've seen TONS of my team mates twist their knees around and rip up their shit when they cut because the spikes don't slide around in the ground like they are used to. Plus, from what I've seen, soccer players cut much more than the average American Football player so i would assume the chance of injury is much higher. I would rather slip and fall than tear my ACL.

***** I was told that if you play on both AG and FG ,your best bet is a round/chronic stud pattern instead of a bladed stud pattern, i have seen about 100 videos related to this topic but never talked about. expertgamer98767 Oh, I think I might just get AG and FG boots, it's to much money to have 3 pairs of shoes :p. On rainy/snowy days I might as well just not go outside lol. Also in NY when it snows it usually drops below 30 degrees fahrenheit which is too cold lol.

Guillermo Barrios i'm not saying that the suds are going to break but the screw points are going to break its a lot of pressure on the points and the durability of the shoe is not going to be the same, they are not going to last a lot of time. You really need to whatch the video again. And also you don't a lot of get stability there isn't enough studs to play on hardd ground you idiot.

krsna balaram surash I most likely won;t be bringing those in. The Rio is very much a budget model, made from pretty cheap synthetic materials. They'll get the job done if that's all that your budget allows for, but it certainly isn't your best option.

What stud pattern has the best cross-over capabilities to play on really hard summer turf? So natural grass, but the ground is hard underneath and won't take an FG stud.Would AG stud pattern be preferable to TF, or vice versa?Thanks

can i use fg boots on most grounds. also i am have bought a pair of nike superfly fg boots but in my school the ground is full of like some with sand and rocks and some with bit of grass so should i use those boots there or should i use at a ground near my house which has grass. and should i have bought sg boots for playing in my school and at ground near my home.please tell me cause i very confused that on what fields i can use my boots and have i made good choice buying it.

+Jo Mama You need a pair of FG shoes and some turf shoes. No single shoe is going to be suitable for both of those surfaces.

Josh, thank you for your review, it's been very helpful. I have a question regarding AG & TF boots. I've seen the difference and have played in both soleplate options, I like them both for their pros/cons. I play at a field rental place and play 6-a-side, their fields are short Artificial grass with a relatively shallow layer of rubber pellets (not as deep as some of the high school pitches). My question is, are TF models less aggressive on your joints and are they better for longevity of the player (not the boot)? Also, on the pitch type I described, is the performance difference between AG/TF more drastic/impactful than the difference in wear & tear on the joints? Any help or feedback will be greatly appreciated!! Keep up the great reviews!

Anthony A. Armas The turf shoe will offer less aggressive traction, which is not only easier on the shoes, but also easier on you.

Hey Josh, what surface would you recommend for the Puma Evospeed 4.3 FG (third take down from the 1.3)? Because if you look at the stud pattern, there 4 somewhat blade studs in the heel area and 8 round-like studs in the forefoot area. I'm currently playing in these on natural grass but I feel as if I do not get proper traction because 1. the studs are not very long, 2. the studs are round-like in front and 3. there are so many studs in the forefoot that I feel as if its a multi-stud boot for AG

+Adon English FG is always for use on firm, natural grass. Anything thing very low-end like that isn't going to offer the best traction.

Jist one question - I play 7-a-side football on a so called "Latest generation rubber crumb synthetic pitch" and have been wearing lightweight FG boots with rectangular studs. However I have Adidas F10 TR FG, and I wanted to know if I can play it on a comparatively rougher surface. The ground near my house has a lot of tiny pebbles and stones and some amount of grass. So do you recommend that I play with these on that kind of ground?

anish panwalkar I'm not sure that you would want to wear cleats if there are small stones on the ground.
