The final scene of Carousel of Progress was originally set in "present day" 1960s. It wasn't meant to be futuristic, but more of a "look how far we've come". Each scene jumped 20 years. 1900s, 20s, 40s and 60s. I agree it should be returned to the original scene. It would be great for preserving the nostalgia, and getting rid of the weird trying-to-be-relevant-but-missing-the-mark ending they have now.

How can you say Monsters sucks if you've never done it?! Everyone has their doubts going into it, but by the time you leave you feel so good and you're smiling ear to ear. Trust me!

You guys made my day!!! Carousel of Progress is one of the 4 rides I would do at Disney if I could only pick 4 to ever do again. You can find coasters, etc anywhere, but Walt's Carousel is a sweet gem that gave a 10 year old her first Disney thrill that will never lose its magic. Kudos, men!

Lol - Charles hit it spot on - the rickety aspect scares me and that adds to the attraction in a weird dysfunctional way. It's a ride I don't love - but still feel compelled to do over and over.

The peoplemover is one of my favorite attractions and I’m 16. It is a family favorite as well. I know the majority of the commentary and throughly enjoy relaxing a little bit during our Magic Kingdom day. QUICK TIP! If you are on then peoplemover during the off season, most cast members will let you go around AGAIN!!! My mom has been known to take naps on this ride!! 10/10! A trip to magic kingdom is not complete without a ride on the peoplemover

Completely agree with Charles regarding the Monsters Inc Laugh Floor. On my last solo trip, I tried to go on it for the first time ever as I wanted to experience every single attraction in the Magic Kingdom. I lasted about 2 minutes. Horrifying for an introvert!!

I honestly like cosmic rays. Sure it’s standard quick service but? It’s not bad. Everything I got there was fine. And the monster is actually cool. I have a great memory of being there, my grandparents and I wanted to get something before we went back to the hotel so we got our food and were actually the last people in the restaurant. I felt bad for closing them down, but before we left they gave us a free sonny eclipse dessert, this really good cheesecake that would’ve normally been like $7. So thank you to the cast members (that probably hate their lives,) for giving us a semi-magic moment.

The people mover needs to be there forever! I love riding it twice in a day. In the afternoon and again at night to see everything lit up. It's always a must do.

I agree w/ Charles, and yes it may be nostalgia but I love Cosmic Rays and Sonny Eclipse. The food is just ok, but the atmosphere and energy is wonderful. It's a must do for us during the Christmas parties. I love having 8 years of videos of my kids dancing w/ various reindeer, Phineas & Ferb etc... over the years during our meals. They put on a DJ during the Christmas parties and it is just great to watch all the kids dancing.

The last time I went on the laugh floor they chose an Asian guy who knew almost no English to pick a number between one and ten and he repeatedly said “hundred”. The monster onstage turned around and screamed “WHAT DO I DO NOW!?” and I don’t know why but I thought it was the funniest thing.

I kind of like the last scene of Carousel. It's been like that as long as I can remember (going since the 90's) and when my husband went for the first time this year, he was sure that it was updated with the 'alexa'. when I told him it's been like that for at least 20 years, he was super impressed! It kind of reminds me of the old innovations when they had cool "house of the future" displays.

Carousel of Progress. I went to the original at 1964 NY Worlds Fair, loved it then, now it's "iconic" for me. Everytime in Magic Kingdom I have to go!

This is a good series. Definitely interested in seeing more episodes! Also, Charles' description of Cosmic Rays is exactly how I feel. It's super cheesy and dumb, food is not great, but the vibes in there make me feel good. I also have a lot of nostalgia for it because it was one of the first places I ever ate on Disney property as a kid.

We were at the Magic Kingdom last Thursday (3/15), and when we went on the People Mover we had a great surprise. Unbeknownst to us Space Mountain had shut down that afternoon, and when we went through we discovered that all of the lights were on. We could see the cars moving around on the tracks. It was awesome!

I will never understand the love for Spaceranger Spin. It's always got a long queue, the queue isn't even interesting, the ride is short, the animatronics are subpar, the cartoony cutouts look like a 90's laser tag place, the gameplay feels janky because the guns have restricted movements, and the ride is short. I mean, I don't HATE this ride, I'm just not crazy about it like everyone else is. It's the weakest shooting dark ride I've done.

I had the same reaction as Steve when I heard about Tron coming to Tomorrow Land. I was excited to think they might be getting rid of the speedway, then so let down when I knew it was staying. And Charles is right about go-cars for all ages. We went to Pigeon Forge years ago when my son was three. There was a place that had go-carts for kids his age, and they could actually drive the car, all on their own. Hilarious to watch little kids trying to drive and attendants having to get them to drive the right direction.

I think they should update Speedway with the cool neon sports cars from Cars 3. Make the queue a lot more interactive like walking through the Cars 3 training facility (nothing over the top) It would fit perfectly with Tron's light scheme.

My 5 year old was only just 4 when she first was able to “steer” the cars at speedway and she absolutely loves it. She wouldn’t be able to do that on a normal go-kart so as much as it sucks for me, it gives her so much joy I would hate them to take that away from her

Space Mountain at WDW was modeled after the Matterhorn Bobsleds, from the seating to how there are different experiences if you pick a different side to ride on.

Cosmic Rays isn't that bad, ya'll!! In a pinch it does just fine! I never have a problem finding a seat, the menu has a decent variety, and there's entertainment! I'm not always looking for 5-star dining during my vacation, so places like this satisfy us when we are hungry and on that side of the park.

On Pete's question on why World doesn't have the overlays and good things that Land has... I believe it's because World is a cash cow and people will keep coming no matter how ratty the park gets. Land counts more on locals and if it doesn't stay fresh it won't earn the cash. Disney has cut costs to the point where it doesn't have the cleanliness and attention to guest experience that used to set it apart from any other amusement park. Our local seaside boardwalk rides are kept in better condition than what we saw in Disney World last trip.

My dad and I had only ever been to disneyland before, but a few years ago we went to Magic Kingdom and we were sooooo happy about the people mover! We had no clue it was still around because it wasn't at Disneyland. We loved it :) Also Tomorrowland Speedway is pretty bad. But I think Autopia is fun.

It's sad to hear the Buzz is in such bad shape. It's one of my favourite rides. But since it is in such bad shape, I would move it to TSL. Disney could expand the track and add new scenes. They could even have 2 different sides. One side being the animatronic side and the other side could be in 3D. PLEASE CHANGE THE "GUNS"!!!! I would love to see Speedway/Autotopia turn into a RSR-esque Sugar Rush ride. The first part would be with Ralph and Vanelope in the pre game, baking the car. For each race, the computer would randomly pick 2 racers from the game, i.e. King Candy and Taffyta. Then they would race around the track. The track could have the candy stands, with animatronic candies cheering racers on. I really want to see Miles from Tomorrowland get a few rides in Tomorrowland lol. I know it's a Disney Junior show, but the name says it all, and he should have more representation then just merch. Miles has a lot of material that could be made into great attractions. Disney has the resources to make it fun for adults too. Wouldn't it be cool to ride on Merk and zip across the galaxy in a FoP way? Or play some of those galactic games in a VR experience?

I went on Tomorrowland speedway with my daughter last year (she was 7) and she was so excited to drive. Honestly, I've never seen her more angry than when we got off that ride. She hated it! She was yelling at it the whole time we were in the car. So for me, it was really funny, because who doesn't wanna laugh at their kid screaming at a car. But aside from that, it was definitely terrible.

I agree with Pete about buzz, its starting to suck. Again though with the people mover. Its an ok attraction, but by no means is it what this group praises it as. Its one of the rides you do cause its a short wait time.

I grew up 3 blocks from Disneyland and I loved the Autopia. At that time, there was no central rail...you drove that car all by yourself. When they did the New Tomorrowland renovations it broke my heart because we lost Carousel of Progress and the People Mover. We also lost the Circlevision America the Beautiful which I think eventually became Soarin in California Adventure.

Louis Armstrong lived in Queens and often visited the 1964 New York World's Fair. He loved Walt Disney's Carousel of Progress so much that he had GE custom build a kitchen in his house that was inspired by the last scene in the Carousel of Progress. Love these videos guys and I agree with your analysis except that I was utterly SHOCKED by the unanimous disdain of the speedway (which I affectionately refer to as the Grand Prix still). I get your points about the fumes and the fixed track etc., but I have so much nostalgia for this ride and was a bit surprised no one shared that. I took my daughter and she loved it as much as I did. Not every kid has gone go-karting and this is an awesome “driving” experience for them. Just my two cents. Love the videos!

I'm so salty about the laugh floor. One of the most iconic Pixar movies- in my opinion- and my favorite movie, they give it this piece of crap. The rides in Disneyland and Tokyo Disneyland look so amazing that it's embarrassing that we have this ride in Florida.

I have a personal vendetta towards the speedway. Hitting the track between your wheels makes your car go crazy and with thrash you around. The wheel doesn't like to be held in any position except straight. If you turn the wheel, it will try to turn it back and has actually twisted my wrists

I use the people mover to take a quick snooze. That why I love it!!

Monsters Inc Laugh Floor doesn't fit in Tomorrowland. It would be better in Hollywood Studios. I don't think it sucks- I've been to some great laugh floor shows and it can be a great retreat to laugh and get out of the hot weather/Florida sun. But to me it's not in the right park.

So glad to hear someone agree with me about Space Mountain. Haven’t ridden since 2012 because it makes my back hurt! Needs some major upgrades.

They need to continue the suck and doesn't suck series and should do world showcase, hollywood studios and animal kingdom. Maybe Disney Springs.

Disneyland's Buzz beats WDW Buzz. Disneyland's Space Mtn. beats WDW Space Mtn by a mile. Funny story about the People Mover. When I was a kid, my mother was deathly afraid of coasters (which is funny considering she is 71 now and loves them). We were on the PM and when we went into Space Mtn she started screaming "They tricked us, they tricked us, we're on Space Mtn!"

First time i went on Speedway was at Paris. The track is longer than Orlando (with a big hill) and i really enjoyed it... I was with my mum and i'll never forget her reaction. Fast forward 6 months and the Orlando one was disappointing compared !

My opinion on WDW Space Mountain is that it should be compared to the Matterhorn Bobsleds. I feel like they wanted a rollercoaster attraction like Matterhorn and didn't want to copy, so they themed it with space, but kept the 2-track concept with cars seating back and front of each other. Then when DL decided to put SM in they already had a similar concept so they needed to re-imagine what it could be. DL is better, but WDW is good too...But I agree they could spice it up with some projections, etc., but I wonder if it's a bit of logistics because of how the two tracks intertwine?
