The idea of Batman finding and saving the Justice League then potentially joining sounds miles better than what we go

During Superman’s boss fight when he was going on about how “I’ve given everything to protect this planet” the words felt so hollow because this was the first time we had ever seen this version of Superman in person. Literally the only thing he’s done is help flash by gorilla grodd at some point and it’s implied he has history with Lex.

DC always rushing stuff, instead of doing the hard work to build up to it, like Marvel did with the solo movies before the Avengers movie. That's the right way to do things, not cutting corners like DC always does.

I absolutely agree. Other justice league games would have absolutely made the narrative more impactful. I also think that Batman taking up Wonder Woman’s role in this game would have been so cool. The gameplay looks fun and the squad is written well but man is the overarching story sad. I’m hoping Rocksteady comes back with a banger, maybe WB will let them do what they want.

I don't even consider SSKTJL canon because Deadshot switches ethnicities from City. If we are able to make small retcons like that, we can take liberties in showing how this game does not fit in the Arkhamverse.

We could’ve had Batman beyond Arkham or an actual good Superman game, a green lantern game but WB had to be greedy and throw a live service looter shooter at us😒 I see why a lot of people complain about the gaming community

Batman coming out of hiding to save a brainwashed Justice League sounds FUCKING BRILLIANT! The Bat Family joins to help Batman come up with unique ways to subdue the corrupt heroes. They build Batman different suits to take on the League in boss fights. Amanda Waller sends in the Squad and fucks up Batman's plans so now he has to take them down too, or even reluctantly work with them. Citizens of Metropolis reacting to Batman's return. Lois Lane making dire broadcasts but begins announcing optimistic messages as Batman saves members of the League. The Bat Family telling Batman they'll keep Gotham safe as he transitions from crimefighter to one of Earth's defenders. So much potential.

I actually don’t think Rocksteady could pull off a Superman game, they have repeatedly shown they are bad at boss fights and they struggle branching out from the stealth/free flow combat system they made in 2009. When they did the Batmobile it was pretty bad now they’ve just turned to a third person shooter which is not innovative.

Basically, WB pulled another DCEU move. From Man of Steel, to BM V SM, to Justice League. There needed to be a lot more buildup in other parts of the world before jumping on the bandwagon

So from what i have heard, rocksteady originally wanted to make a superman game, however, wb didn't green light the project, then rocksteady was like lets make another batman Arkham game, and wb didn't green light that one either, then rocksteady pitched a suicide squad game and wb only green light it because of james gunn's film! So if anything, for any bad decisions rocksteady made, we have wb to blame, they are responsible for the trash story, the live service, not getting a superman game and so on! They are the reason for destroying the Arkhamverse. But lets wait to see if they at least redeem themselves with the dlc!

I really wished we got a Superman game with Clark Kent and Lois lane raising there son Jonathan Samuel Kent superboy as his little 10 year old self learning how to control his powers and being a hero and even cooler being developed by rocksteady because that game would’ve been fantastic and tons of fun and it drives me crazy that we didn’t get that game but instead of a game we got with a suicide squad game that nobody wanted myself included but that’s just my opinion.

What the Arkhamverse needed INSTEAD of SSKTJLA!

There was zero reason for this to be set in the Arkham verse. Outside of the Batman museum scene, you can swap it to a different universe and almost nothing changes.

This would've been amazing. I still think we'll get a full justice league game eventually after SSKTJL is over but seeing metropolis in its glory makes me want a solo Superman game sooo bad.

The premise of Gotham Knights should've been Rocksteady's project. A way to honor the legacy of Arkham's Batman through the Bat family.

Im totally honest, i think that if we had games for every league member, then a justice league game. They could set up a plot point for braniac being there. The game would be even less or slightly more approved.

When they announced a Slip n Slide Squad game would be the next step in the Arkhamverse, I assumed it would be a cool way to introduce all the members of the League. The Squad would have had to find cunning and creative ways to lure them into traps so they could actually capture them and free them of Brainiac's control. But no, they actually just had Harley Quinn beat every Leaguer in a straight-up fight and kill them. Wow. And yes, going from the fairly grounded and serious Batman only world to aliens, magic, and alternate dimensions with no lube was asinine lmao. Even if they didn't want to do a Superman game because of how difficult it would be to have Superman feel like Superman, but also have a challenging game, they could have done a Wonder Woman game.

We need a Superman game. Superman is perhaps the most iconic superhero. He’s a pop culture icon and Rocksteady nailed Batman in the Arkham games especially City. Wb Montreal nailed Batman as well with Origins. If Rocksteady made a Superman game it would sell so well and you could have a Superman trilogy. Then do Flash or Wonder Woman or Green Lantern.

While I’m happy the Arkham universe is branching out to the rest of the dc universe, unlike some much other Batman content, there was so much potential of what games could and should of been made before a SS killing the JL game (e.g. Nightwing, Oracle, Red hood, Harley Quinn, superman!, flash, green lantern, JL, and of course a another Batman game, I still hope we get that Damien Wayne game)

The issue this game brought up for me is that i didn’t really think of/care for getting a JL game UNTIL I PLAYED THIS LMAO. They did so many things right imo, metropolis is incredible, the league themselves design-wise and their characterizations as a whole are amazing and NEED to be shone on in their own game, theres too much here to do nothing with

Definitely agree, this game should've been an either or where Suicide Squad either wasn't set in the Arkhamverse to begin with, or it was set in the Arkhamverse but only after a Justice League game. That would've helped it so much

I do like the idea of a superman game after arkham knight and introducing other heroes, and by the end of that game would eventually form the justice league, or possibly can be formed before arkham knight. And then brainiac comes along and brain washes them, another arkham game with batman saving them would give a reasonable explanation of him coming out of the shadows

Assault on Arkham is Canon and the Deadshot from that movie will always be the real one to me.

I feel like the only problem with a Superman game is how would they make it fair and not some OP guy beating criminals with ease. Since Superman is immortal, can fly, has super strength, laser eyes, and x ray vision, his only weakness would be kryptonite. I don't know how they would make it fair and not super easy and boring.

How about a World's Finest game as you switch back and forth between Supes and Batman as they meet for the first time?

The whole idea of the suicide squad is covert operations, where the actual risk is doing something that puts the us govt in a dangerous position, and so the members have to avoid getting their head blown off. they need to stop making them save the world at every turn. starting from those two movies to this, the suicide squad is not meant for world-saving operations. or if you want them to, THEN MAKE A NICE EXPLANATION FOR IT. A suicide squad set in the arkhamverse with the squad taking part in a covert operation in gotham or metropolis, or even central city, or all three would be lit. introduces us to the justice league members too.

They could’ve made an arkhamverse Justice league game using Starro as a main villain as we see him in the batgirl dlc in Arkham Knight

Like the game but superman and flash are probably the most difficult playable difficult if not impossible to design. Plus chances of getting flamed increases if game is bad

We needed A LOT of games before this one.

People talk about the importance of making the characters op when the idea of a Superman virtual experience pops up.. They lack ideas, I mean Marvel’s Avengers didn’t necessarily have to make Hulk this whole planet buster because they needed to balance the game. Think of Warframe when making a flash game, he can’t be THAT fast.. Also, i believe the clone theory.. I mean, it’s pretty evident as to why they are anyways because their powers don’t even work the same. Also, can I take the time to confront this whole copium thingy? Maybe I miss understood but isn’t it DC’s intention under Gunn to have DC games tv and movies all have the same actors and be in the same universe so I’d assume the Arkhamverse ends after this game and the Wonder Woman game will be the final game outside of the new DCU. Unelss they’re going to try to make more games Arkhamverse as an elseworlds project but Rocksteady is one of Monolith, WB Montréal and maybe Avalanche who would be able to produce DCU games.

Wdym by grounded you should’ve clarified because the Arkham games had some fantastical elements. Mr. Freeze, Clayface, Bane to an extent, and Killer Croc. I may be missing some. Yes the story scope is just save this city for the most part in those games or stop these assassins. In Suicide Squad it’s essentially save the world (multiverse pretty much) from Brainiac

Brainiac enhanced enemies would obviously be perfect opponents for Superman to fight, and this game could have quite easily been a Superman game. Yes the map is small but they could have given it a high ceiling.

The gameplay is a mix of Fortnite art and movement, a bland version of Borderlands for looting, and a 90's style RPG element for stats. There is a demographic for this, but extremely few fit the demographics for the predecessor Batman games.

I don't understand why you mentioned Avengers Ave of Ultron?

(I personally feel) that the game wasn't as bad as people make it out to be, The gameplay loop is genuinely fun (It takes time to get used to) It makes for a fun experience where you're balancing a lot while in combat, I also don't think the combat is repetitive with the additions of all the upgrades, skills, and the four playable characters. The graphics are not BAD (Objectively) The voice acting isn't bad, And the general Atmosphere of Metropolis is great. The actual problem with the game is the (Story) it feels very all over the place it lacks impact (SPOILER WARNING) You don't feel the impact of killing the members of the league. It just genuinely feels disrespectful to there characters especially Batman, If you are playing the game only cause of it being a Arkham game then you probably won't like it or as a person who finds the story to be more important than gameplay than you probably won't like it but in a gameplay perspective it isn't bad and makes for a fun time. Now im done yapping ✌

Rocksteady was going downhill for a while. It was evident from Arkham Knight with the horrible ending they gave to try and ruin any future games being made in that universe, then Warner bros but pressure on them to continue that universe so they really killed their universe. There were members of the original rocksteady that left years before the game came out. The problem is the owners of Rocksteady can whine about not being able to make their “original IP” but they lose sympathy for making this crap product for fans. A major slap in the face to legion of fans that will hold them accountable for this crap. Yeesh!

Honeslty. While i appreciate this postive review amougn the sea of negative, i still have to brinng something up. Namley that? This game has a lot of problems. The boss figths have interesting ideas but just feel plain stupid given how every preivous scene sets up how easily each hero can overpower the squad. The story is fine for the most part if a bit dumb, and the gameplay is fun enouph, but repetative as there isn't anything to spice it up/change or improve it past what you get at the start. Even hhe skill trees feel a bit tacked on as they don't really change how you play. But if you ask me, most of the games issues stem from the decicion not to make this a live service, but a looter shooter. This was an incredibly bad decicion in my book for one reason. It made the game desgined around fighting the random enemies and minions. And NOT around the boss fights. And that's a huge issue. This games combat systems and mechanics are NOT desgined for boss fights at ALL. It's desgined for frantic, chaotic shoot outs. Not boss fights against super powered indiivduals. They can't create interesting mehanics or gameplay moments, beacuse the whole thing is desinged around guns and moving from place to place and shooting things. How would you make a boss fight against batman work? He's just a human being in a batsuit. He can't use his gadgets to disable our guns or we can't even fight. He can't sneak around and ambush us beacuse we have no means to counter that. He can't jump down and punch us, beacuse we have no melee combos or mechanics beyond the basic attack. This extends to the whole game. Looter shooters generally don't have very good boss fights outside of borderlands and this game proves why. Rather than building itslef around each characters unique gimmick and skll set, eveyone just shoots and gets around the city diffrently. THAT is a huge problem and explains why each boss fight feels so dumb. There is nothing they can acutally DO with this combat system. Functionally, let's think about this. How is Joker going to play any diffrent to deathstroke? Or Mr/Nora Freeze in future content? He moves around the citty diffrently? What else? What is the point of new playable characters if they all play the same at the end of the day and don't have anything to truly make them unique comabt wise?

I like the game and I'm going to get it and to me it's Arkham cannon, I may be one of the few people but again, I don't care, as long as I'm interested in it I'll play it. I love the idea of then finding batman and him joining but I strongly hate the title of this video as I think the suicide squad game was a shit idea and never should have been made or even conceived. So no game should have came before it becuase the game itself is just a disgusting wrecked peice of garbage that literally pisses on all of our childhoods, making the villains good in anyway is bad to teach our kids and I have 3....they will never see or play this game. I'll just have them play the original games.

The arkhamverse was never grounded. You have a man surviving getting thrown through walls, getting shot, poisoned, and beaten to near death, just because of training. You have a league of assassins that has existed for hundreds of years. You have a mutant crocodile, a literal undead zombie, and a man who turned himself into a bat.
