that was devastating... I thought he had it. That putt on 18 wasn't easy though and Bryson made some ridiculous par saves like on 8 and 18. Overall Rory's putting was as good as I've seen in years. Rory is not done yet, I would be surprised if he doesn't get at least 2 more majors.

The putt on 18 was very tricky especially for a right hander. The inexcusable mistake was the earlier missed 3 footer. Cannot do that.

How exactly is going into Sunday with a significant lead and absolutely falling apart better than starting 3 shots back and shooting a 69 to lose by 1 stroke? The recency bias or dislike of Bryson is making people say the silliest shit.

@@DGRRvideosDeChambeau played some phenomenal recovery shots in that last round. His steadiness put all the pressure on McIlroy. I know he shot +1 but it’s the best over par round you’ll see. Heartbreaking for McIlroy to get into position only to fluff it. Lets be honest though anyone could’ve missed that putt. It was only 3ft but a slider down the hill. Worst putt to have because it looks easy to the untrained eye. You know you need to pick a spot outside the hole and let the slope do the work. It’s so hard to pace that putt right. All that being said I do love watching a McIlroy choke job.

@@DGRRvideosyeah Bryson just earned the US, I don’t think Rory lost it. He got himself up by 3 strokes for the day, he shouldn’t have even been in contention for the win. Yeah it was a little choke at the end but still, Brysons bunker shot was too beautiful to not be a winner.

Definitely Bryson won the US Open! But the sad part about this is Rory is #3 player in the world & to act like an entitled spoiled brat & not handled this loss better than he did has no business playing this game! And Rory lost this championship by missing those two shots! Rory needs to man up & stop being such a bad loser! Rory just confirms what I’ve always thought about him he’s got his personal business too much in the public eye! Rory is a professional golfer so that’s all we need to see & hear about Rory! Now Rory is trying to drag the public into his personal business & personally I don’t want anything to do with Rory’s personal business! Rory has a terrible record with personal relationships that have been made public & ladies if you’re going to get involved with Rory keep this in mind! Check Rory’s history with women before stepping into the non commitment Rory has with women! Right now who my thoughts are with is their daughter Poppy 🙏♥️🤗

I read a lot of comments of people that do not know what golf is all about. Golf is an incredible difficult sport and the best of the best players have up - downs in their careers. They become the number ones and after that , for years, they are not able to win a major tournament.Just think to Rahm, Johnson,Garcia, Spieth, Koepka, Mickelson, Thomas, Fowler, Scott, etc,etc.I find it very unfair that instead everybody now is focused in criticising Rory's performances

I wouldn’t call it a choke.. he was losing the entire duration of the tournament until the last couple of holes. There in which he only took the lead because Bryson had 2 bogeys and Rory had 2 birdies in a row. He wasn’t expected to win. He had a flash where he was in the lead that’s it. No choke, Bryson was just better and more consistent.

You have to make every shot. You cannot go into victory formation and take a knee. That's golf. It happens. Rory showed what a jackass he is by leaving so fast. Scottie Sheffler is showing that he isn't such a good guy after all either. You really see a player's character when he LOSES. It's easy to win and be all sunshine and cool to everyone. But when you lose and act like a baby....well.... Greg Norman was always class when he lost. When he blew the masters, he shook hands with Faldo, he stayed and talked to the press. Even after all these years, he still faces it and is willing to talk about it.

It’s unbelievable he’s #3 in the world! All I see is a spoiled brat who was young & won championship’s early & received huge contracts & now Rory is not living up to these contracts? Maybe that’s putting too much pressure on Rory to win championship or maybe his personal life has some bearing on his career? At any rate Rory needs to man up & start being a professional golf player & not an entitled only child spoiled brat! Just remember Rory you made your personal business public by filing for divorce from your wife Erica of seven years! Then after You Rory receives the bill from your attorneys for millions You Rory called off the divorce & reconcile with your wife Erica! Now the trust factor kicks in Rory for Erica? Hopefully Erica will be more aware of you Rory & trusting you Rory? Any wife would have trust issues after what you just did Rory! Everybody can't be Tiger Woods, just like everyone can't be Michael Jordan. Players like that come along once or twice in a hundred years. Rory is very very good. He's in the top 10 in the world. But Tiger was a level above anyone in the top 10 not just Rory. Now Rory was poised to win with 3 holes left but he hadn't been under pressure like that in a major for 10 years and his nerves couldn't handle it. Once he gets past the pain of this loss, he'll be more ready the next time he's faced with this situation.

Lot of haters on here. Truth is probably that Rory weakened a bit during the intense pressure of the last 4 holes due to an unstable home life. There is no telling what hoops his married life made him jump through, getting divorced, then reconciling, etc.This can really wear on you, draining you of energy when you need it the most. It is no secret that the most winning golfer of all time, Jack Nicklaus, also had one of the great marriages and families of all time. That foundation is extremely important and cannot be overlooked. Look what happened to Tiger after his split in 2009. Rory needs a little time to sort his life out once and for all, and if he does that, afterwards he will be back stronger than ever, count on it.

Same thing happened to him that happened to most of the greats. He got to the peak of the mountain, wasn't satisfied and wanted to get paid. Started messing with his swing, switched club companies for more money and over training in the gym to build muscle he didn't need. Now he can drive the ball better than anyone on Earth other than maybe Bryson, but has a mediocre approach game and an average at best putter.

Building muscle kills the golf swing, under pressure you can’t control muscle. Top golfers should build up legs and keep the upper body flexible.

you are on to something. wiry strong, core strong........ nobody ever brings up his weight training. II went from a +2 at 16, started power lifting, if I could break 80 two years later I was having a good day. Driving distance was up, swing was flatter and less fluid, short game poor to streaky......

Bulky Bryson dechambeau just won the u.s. open, muscle has nothing to do with golf, as long as you still have full mobility
@curiousbystander9193
@curiousbystander9193 9 күн бұрын
@@carterrosati5282 bulky bryson has stepped way back from his bulk building mentality and exercises, and this might be the primary reason he won.... cause his big muscles sure were firing a little off, barely hitting a fairway all day...... good thing the golf gods were working for him yesterday. ECK is a good example of how bulk can change your swing negatively.

@@curiousbystander9193Bryson’s problem was that he got too big too fast. He gained a huge amount of fat in addition to his muscle also and knew that that wasn’t healthy.

It's almost like why bother trying be as good as Tiger? If anyone even ever could do so. You can be as good as someone like Rory, still be a gagillionaire and enjoy life a bit more instead of constantly practicing as much as Tiger must have. And yeah. Since the Tiger boom, the field is even deeper than when Tiger played. Plus technology as well. Unfortunately I dont think there will ever be another Tiger.

I was a huge Rory fan a decade before ever hearing of Bryson. I think Bryson is awesome, and I do root for him, but I'll always root for Rory and hope for him to win more majors. I was stoked to see Bryson and Rory at the top of the leaderboard at the US Open because they were the two dudes I wanted to see win. Truly heartbreaking finish for Rory. Like many others, though, I'm sure he'll win more majors.

It's all relative. He has one focus (I'm guessing), like most of his lot. That is to be #1. These guys have been conditioned for such expectations since childhood and to fall from form is to them, devastating and hits the core of their identity. For you and me, however, we'll keep enjoying the odd round below our handicaps and a happy beer after with our mates! Cheers - Dave
