Kameo: Elements of Power was released in 2005 for the Xbox 360, as an exclusive launch title. The game was a highly-anticipated release and was received pretty well at launch by both critics and fans. However, it's rare to see the game being brought up in any discussions today both by fans and the developer, which ultimately begs the question - what the hell actually happened to Kameo?

It's even more tragic if you know the Lost Lore. A *lot* of the story was left out of the game but it actually explains the real reason Kalus is furious and some characters you can't look at in the same way once you know why.

I've been begging for a Sequel or even a full remake of Kameo for years now. I'm still mad they canned the sequel for crappy Kinect games. I probably played through the original game 3 or 4 times. Such an underrated game. Sad.

Yes, seriously! Kameo is actually my #1 favorite game still after all these years that have past! I was so captivated when it first came out in 2005 and it helped me a crap ton through my childhood. I know it sounds like nostalgia and it is, along with just how awesome I thought/think the game is all together. I fricking super hope that they bring that Kameo 2 reveal video to life that was revealed by Rare... though now that I think about that, that would just make it no surprise since they basically showed their project of what they did achieve back in 2009 on the video... STILL, they made the first Kameo absolutely perfect back in 2005, and with a lot enhanced technology over the years, I know they can do it again! Shoot, it doesn't have to be a 50 to 60 hour game like nowadays, it..... can you see that I love Kameo?! 😂😍 I'm just gonna stop there.

I wish for nothing more than this game getting a sequel. Kinda dumb that they just quot the sequel which was in planning but also understandable due the circumstances. I'm playing through it once a year at least because it just is so good. I was five when I played it and am now 22, will forever continue to play it and unlock all those good memories. 🫂

That would be pretty cool just not a whole lot darker because I I think by that point it would start to feel like a completely different game and I personally like the level of darkness that I already has in the first one. It's focuses more on the light but has enough darkness to where it shows the evil that Kameo fights. Did you see the Rare Reveal video of what all they made before it got canned?! I thought that was a great idea but a shame it got canned. I know, full circle. 🙈

This is legitimately one of my favorite games ever. It holds such a special place in my heart. I would love to see it remastered. I didn’t actually like the design/premise of Kameo 2. It seemed like they were trying way too hard to be dark and angsty. Part of the magic of Kameo is the bright color and gorgeous environments. It felt so fun and carefree to fly around the main area, watching the grass move with the breeze, being trailed by butterflies, and talking to the charming characters. I’d love to see that expanded.

I was thinking maybe she gets touched by the darkness but is fighting it all along her journey and finally overcomes it, or something like that. I think all of that would’ve remained in parts too. If you play the DLC (Expert mode), you’ll see the darker tones in the characters but the magic is still there.

Kameo is the game i played on my 360 at launch, was an inventive & enjoyable experience. I remember being wowed by how many enemies could be on screen at once. Shame they were forced to make games for the Kinect, waste of that teams talents in my opinion.

I think you'd enjoy Drakan: The Ancients' Gates for PS2. It came out in 2002. Like Kameo, it's a hidden gem.

I remember seeing the trailer on loop on a display screen whilst at a shopping mall as a kid and i kept on repeating the title to myself because i was deathly afraid of forgetting it but when i eventually did get it it was one of my favourite games on the xbox

i have a special place in my heart for Kameo. It was the first game my stepdad bought for me for the 360. He got it soley based on baby me's loose description of the game after only seeing the commercial once. to this day, I still have the disc, i lost the box for it unfortunately. i really wish we'll get a sequel. hopefully the "Edgy" phase will be left in the past with the 360 and lean even more into the colorful enchanting world the first game has.

I've been saying we need a Zelda like game to bring back this pet/transformation mechanic, in a more realistic world.... Everwild would be perfect for this.... First Rare game where I truly love the artstyle, and it may be nothing but a Viva Pinata farming game.... More ppl need to speak up about it, and what we want out of it

I got this game with my very first xbox 360. I loved it and used to ho back to it all the time as a kid. It just randomly popped into my head so I searched for it and hear we are. Kind if a shame they never made it a series.

Kameo deserves a sequel. Shame we'll probably never get one. The setting was really engaging, and the blend of dark/gritty and high fantasy adventure was pretty unique for the time.

I remember seeing previews for Kameo and being so excited to play this game. Unfortunately, it didn’t really appeal to gamers then. I think if a game like that was released today, it would have faired much better.

Kameo was the first game I ever remember playing and up to today I’ve replayed it no less than five times. Every time I play it, I see another set of tiny details in the world that would make for an amazing sequel. I’m disappointed that, not only will we likely never see Kameo 2, but it was likely because of the Kinect that it will never happen

This game is on Xbox gamepass currently with updated visuals and lots of bonus skins too, just played it for the first time this week and had a lot of fun. The gameplay and story brought me back to that era of games that I really enjoyed so if you haven't tried it yet go for it! I just beat it yesterday on Xbox One in about 10 hours and I'm thinking about going back for all the achievments. The gameplay was very creative and the world imaginative. It's not particularly challenging or hard per say and the scoring thing throughout the game was the only thing I thought was odd and didn't belong but it does give you a reason to go back and replay the levels more to try and get a higher score each time so there is that. Would definitely play a sequel.

this game is one of my favorite games ever been made for xbox! it's both sad and disrespectful that developers stop making such a wonderful game, espcially when it was in development of a sequel! what happen to kameo is a good argument and point one youtuber said: "developers should respect there creations". to me, if the people who made kameo won't make more sequels to this game, i feel it's us, the fans, duties to keep the spirit of kameo alive!

This is still one of my favourite games ever (I’m half way through completing it on Expert via GamePass!) I was really disappointed the sequel got cancelled :(. Rare nowadays are a shell of their former selves so I’m not hopeful for it to turn up one day either.

Such a fun game I would just spend hours fighting the armies of orcs in the open world. Changing between the dragon and octopus characters because the fire/oil combo was so OP. I just love games where you can be multiple things and characters it keeps the game playable being able to change up character and skills and powers and abilities so uniquely.

I hope it gets a remake or sequel! It needs to be available on the Nintendo switch as well. Kameo was originally meant for Nintendo so it always felt that it would of fit better on a Nintendo console !

This was the first game i got for my 360 back then, loved it, the original ben10 before ben 10 existed, Loved every transformation levels and that sweet fairy bussy, but it had no way to compete in the era and console of "if it's not a shooter it's not worth it" so it died, i'm still hopeful for a remaster

I think everyone needs to take another look at all the unique ideas and gameplay elements that a game from almost 20 years ago did and games today struggle to repeat....... critics of today are constantly complaining about games that don't have the features that Kameo did on the 360.

The only reason I never played this game is because my parents wouldn't buy me the game at the time, I could only play a demo at the shop when it was released, I thought the game was so fun, it still is in my mind to this day more than most games. now I finally bought it so I can play it after years of searching for the title of this game. 💖💖💖

I was honestly interested in playing this game. I recently got the Rare Replay collection out of curiosity for some of these "classics" that people a few generations back enjoyed. Unfortunately I had to refund it because it had 1 insignificant scratch that ruined the whole collection and made *this* game specifically not able to download. It's a shame but I'll try again in the future.

I loved the game back in the day. It was one of my first games for the console. Sure it didn’t push the limits of the system but that’s typical for launch titles, it’s the games made close to the end of a consoles life cycle that typically push the console for all its worth. It’s just simply because early games are new to the hardware code and aren’t sure what the limits of it is while by the end of the console devs know every tweak and trick to get the most out of it.

They could revive this game if they stepped in the right direction! They could remaster this game and add it onto the Nintendo consoles such as switch ! They could add some new features and maybe a costume Easter egg for Mario and then create the sequel using what they were hoping to add!
