The SR Reboot failed because it was “re-imagined for ‘modern audiences’”. It was a spit in the fandom’s face. It was written to appease people who would never play the game.

When you hate your fanbase, and they don’t buy your product because they hate you just as much. That’s what happened.

When you make games against what your fans want for years, get cocky and comfortable ignoring them, mocking them criticizing what they see then shocked that they dont support the game and you flop, then shut down. Deep Silver though did this for them. Fans tell them "no" we want the old characters, a good story, and at least a mix of SR2 with some of 3, and they just give you a middle finger, give you shitty writing and gimmicky DLC nobody asked for, then shocked fans are livid with you. Asking for gangsters for the past 3 games before the reboot and still Deep Silver thought they knew better than the fans.

I hate to say it, but im glad Volition is gone. As a fan of the Saints Row franchise, its hard watching something you love constantly get warped into something unrecognizable smh I saw the signs after Gat Out of Hell came out honestly.....then when Agents of Mayhem came out i knew I'd never see Saints Row be the same again. Seriously, all Volition had to do was *Listen to the Fans* smh Regardless, I'd rather see Volition shit dowj than have them constantly tarnish the franchise any further. If you go WOKE, you go BROKE! They ruined the game by bending the knee to the woke mob. SR2 was perfect and SR3 was good but SR4 was under pressure to be like other games. The Saints Row reboot was trying to be like other games but worst. Agents of Mayhem was a lot stuff that was supposed to be in the fourth game but made a separate game. But that’s just my opinion.

I'm going save everyone the time and cut to the chase on why Volition went belly up. First, Embracer Group failed parentership with Saudi Arabia company Savvy. That deal alone was worth 2 billion dollars. Second, EG had to close down a couple of studio aka restructuring their business. Volition was DOA because. Third, Volition hasnt release any noticeable games outside of Saints Row series. The studio has done nothing, but waste money. It didnt help much the SR as IP as long past its prime/popularity. The game was nothing more than meme.

To me, Volition died a long time ago when they just kept pumping out one Saints Row sequel after the other. Saints Row killed them, not the new one, the original. I will always fondly remember games like Summoner, Freespace, Red Faction, and Descent back when they made serious games.

SR2 ❤ was the best of the franchise with all features improved. But what happened with Volition? I can tell you: the developers didn't understand the reasons what made SR great. They thought they have to make SR for a new generation but that was their biggest mistake. As always these "creators" , if it is in Hollywood or in the games industry, think they know better and handle the fanbase without respect. Thankfully these kind of people exactly get what they deserve for their arrogance. I don't care about Volition anymore and look forward to hopefully better games from other studios in the SR franchise.

Red Faction Guerrilla is still my top game for destruction. I loved SR 3 . I did not like SR4. Agents of Mayhem was the start of the downfall but the SR reboot was the gas on the fire.

The fall of volition truly sucks because they were a great studio and if they had maybe one more shot with a smaller scope game, it could have helped them bounce back. But I believe two things attributed to the downfall and those are; the hubris of the devs themselves and the stupidity of the publishers. Now, I typically side with devs on most things because gamers, fanbases, the community, whatever, tend to be really nitpicky and complain about just about everything, but in this case, most of the criticism were valid. The problem with the last Saints Row is the same thing that happened with Agents of Mayhem. A lot of their fans tried telling them what was wrong, or what they didnt like, but the devs pushed forward anyway thinking they knew what was best for the game. However, those fans didnt like the direction of the game, so it flopped. The mistake repeated for Saints Row with them not listening, and then were shocked when they were met with low sales as a result. They got too big thinking they couldnt be touched when they were only in arms reach. Plus the biggest fact is that they tried to pander to an audience that wasnt there. Fanbases dont grow because someone tries something new with an IP that could possibly alienate an existing audience in order to potentially bring in more people. Fanbases grow by doubling down on what people liked about the IP in the first place, and then those people love it so much they bring others in through recommendations and word of mouth. The second reason being the stupidity of the publishers is because they continued to downsize the studio while expecting more out of them. And this is nothing new. When I worked at a retail place YEARS ago, one of the most important things about being an employee at my job was upselling drivers. Selling memberships or whatever have you to get extra money out of the customers pocket. The problem was that in managements eyes if you werent selling that much, they cut your hours until you did. Which was counterintuitive because if Im working less, how do I have the opportunity to sell more to get those hours back? I dont. Work less, means less opportunity. While the people who are always there, always have the opportunity and available to get those sales even at their leisure. Same principle here. Even before the last Saints Rows, the publisher kept downsizing the studio but expected them to keep scaling up the games. They literally forced them into situation where they had to find workarounds for certain situations and crunch was practically mandatory. And the delays the game suffered only put more pressure on their budget and more pressure on them from the publisher, so it was inevitably go gold or go bust. They didnt have that manpower anymore, the money, or the time, and everything went bust. Now, there is no excuse for the state the game launched in, especially when the previous game offered so many other things, but that also because after the failure of Agents, many of the studio including long time devs had already left, before they started trying to hire again for Saints Row.

The map size is around double the original size, while the activities and the number of overall activities are more than tripled, the Diversions from previous games all come back, the collectibles now match the amount from SR4 etc. Putting this game to up Saints Row 2 rather than diversify from that experience is the top goal in this rewrite sheet. There will also be Crib and NPC overhauls. Crib overhauls New Arcade Games Tank Tetris from the virtual reality mission but now can be played in every crib. Saints of Rage NEEDS to be in every crib and fully replayable, along with new levels such as The Church defense and the Plane (This is For you Johnny is the achievement) Further there are dozens of text adventures to collect The Audio logs can be played in crib menu once you get the new STAG interior New Crib functions ---Customization overhauls that don't influence the Navmesh in cutscenes, each one has to be purchased with in game cache and quite expensive -Blingy -Apocalypse -Saints Classic -Ultra Post Modernism -Saints Pop stars -Deckers overthrown -Luchadores overthrown - Morningstar Overthrown - STAG overthrown For every unique crib For Stronghold cribs -Nuclear blast -Sex op -Saints HQ (like the original) - Genki Theme -Hades theme (inspired from GooH) -Ultor Both will be "Custom Crib" on the Crib menu ---Arcade Games ---Text Adventures --- STAG Audio Logs Within the Audio logs you can also find--- --- Nyteblade teases

Saints row in 2023 on the reboot still has sounds buggingout in co op where evrythign sounds muffled and you still get stuck in your seat and cannot get out vehicles. Bugs that came out on release are still there. I no longer supporting Volition simply because they are failing and lying to their fans .

I had high hopes for the reboot as a fan since the beginning. I defended it, and then it just kinda... there. It's humor lacked any edge, with Rimjob's becoming Jim rob's. The jokes felt pandering and just meh. The gameplay and storyline were very generic in every sense of the word. Honestly you could reskin it and it would fit right in with GTA 2 with bad humor. Everything about it felt bland mass appeal, and considering the core of their audience has been people who prefer humor and ridiculousness to GTA's more realistic approach. Well it wasn't meant for anyone because it was meant for everyone.

It's over and that's just life, and thiers as a studio just ended I don't believe that Saints Row as a brand is over though... It's just taking time off before it can be resurrected yet again only this time... This is my first time I've ever heared about Volition but I readed it is a videogame creator from Champaign Illinois in United States and Koch media buyed it on year 2018 when THQ stopped and some Mike Kulas named guy created that company.
