As a Raptors fan, I totally agree with you. Still, the Raptors DESPERATELY need a true center. The only mistake I think Masai made was not signing Serge Ibaka. Other than that, I trust whatever he is doing. Sometimes, you have to take a step back if you want to take two steps forward.

One thing to keep in mind right now is that FVV & Pascal and maybe others are possibly suffering the effects of COVID-19. I agree that the Raptors should tank, get the best draft pick they can. Develop him into another superstar like the warriors are trying to do.

This has been a tough time to watch this team. They have the worst season in a very long time. I think they should tank and try to get one of those top four picks.

Once we get a better center we will be a much improved team. Ibaka and Gasol help led us to a 0.736 winning percentage last year, but as soon as they left and we went to small ball we went to 0.383. We keep running small ball line ups and its not working, need to change up the strategy for next season.

They've had the luxury of depth coming off the bench for many seasons now - their G League program was the tops, and that's how Fred, Pascal, and a number of others got their start in the league. This season it has not benefitted them to pull some of their G Leaguers up, like Watson, or Stanley, or Flynn, because the chemistry and confidence isn't there yet. And to be competing with other teams without a legitimate center on the court is absurd. That's why Siakam is getting so frustrated playing at the 5 spot, because he's better served on the wings, making the breakaway play off the rebound for quick scoring points, not being stuck competing for the ball under the rim against a guy that's got 60 pounds on him and is 4 inches taller. Even if they did go on a tear and started winning every game to win the season, there's no way they're winning seven game series against teams with legit big men and a lineup of three point shooters. I would prefer to see them get a top pick from the draft this season, and then sign a decent center.

Tanking is not in our nature, our ethic is to try to compete every night... even if Kyle retires as a player I see him coming back after in a coach or player development role so even if he misses another ring as a player he would still get one regardless... gambling on the draft is rarely a winner... we are fighting so many demons just now... Pascal list 15lbs during his layoff, the refs are against us every night [which means the league executives cannot be trusted to have an honest draft lottery , conspiracy anyone? anyone notice how the offence stalls when fred has the ball, especially in the first half against detroit. he keeps ball hogging and not giving anyone touches. i wouldve liked to see gtj have more touches. he had 15 on his limited touches, couldve had more! fred keeps going to the paint unsuccessfully or holding it til the end of possession and gets up a bad shot. also kept shooting threes against portland so his 3 point record wouldnt break and shot terrible. those possessions couldve been used better, the ball movement stops, another reason why our offence has droughts throughout the season, well partially. and this is nothing new I've seen this happening since the boston series.he plays hero ball sometimes, plays like a 2 guard but his height deters him from finishing at the rim, if he could playmake better like a pg and make his teammates better when he isnt shooting well we'd get the ball moving better and MAYBE had a better outcome
