Join me in celebrating a special milestone in my motherhood journey as I host a party to honor my body after four years of pregnancy and breastfeeding. My body has decided that it's done making milk and just stopping felt anticlimactic so I wanted to do something a little extra.

What bothers me is people hating change. Its ok for her to change! She has many life events that causes people to change, causes people to evolve! It's okay if the change isn't for you, just quietly go about your business.

I will say it’s perplexing that folks leave comments saying your content is boring. Ive been watching ur content since i was 15-16. I am turning 26 in a couple weeks. I dont keep up so closely bc u have evolved and I have too. People have this interesting stagnant understanding around content creation. We are not all meant to stay on each others path forever in any type of relationship; this one being parasocial(?). Anyway keep evolving as u are. Its amazing to see you continue to seek knowledge and be ever growing. U are definitely someone whose influence has informed who i have become today. I continue to look up to u and check-in every so often. Im not so so focused on ur content subject matter at this current point in my life but there many people who are still searching for u. I would suggest though including more gen-z in ur work. Not everytime but just more often. -much love + many thanks

I've been on the baby journey for the last 25 years (my oldest just turned 25 and my youngest is... 2) and still nursing. I don't stop until they are close to 3 years old. So I have about 9 months before my journey comes to a end. And IM TERRIFIED. As a 40yo woman, I've only had my period for 3 years in total... if that, and have nooooo clue what to do when it returns. When the time to stop comes, I'm going to cry... a lot

Oh my goodness Shan, I can’t tell you how much I needed this video right now. I’m an exclusive pumper for my son (he’s almost 16 months), but have recently experienced huge aversions to the pumps, I only pump once a day now and my supply is dropping, so my i know it’s time to let go of that part our relationship, but I’ve been struggling with the emotions of it. Thanks for contextualising the beauty and celebration is reaching the end of a pregnancy and/feeding cycle. And plaudits to your body for sustaining two beautiful lives for four years straight 🎉

This is really beautiful Shan. I have a three month old and have struggled with low supply but have stuck with pumping to just be able to even give him 1-2 bottles of my milk a day. Seeing him consume it every day one of my accomplishments moments as a mom. Not everyone wants to lactate and that is totally fine and understandable, but for me it was an important part of my journey

wanting to continue on even when it caused you much physical pain and discomfort... that's a mothers love. Beautiful. I've been a silent subscriber since the beginning. I too want to have a fabulous entrepreneurial career AND give everything to my future children, thank you Shan for showing me thats possible and sharing the unglamorous truths along the way. You have been my biggest role model in so many ways. p.s. women & birthing people speaking out about postpartum experiences is so important and valuable! I know it will help us create a society that not only has more understanding and respect for the beautiful journey that is pregnancy, childbirth and onward, but also provides more care and aid to young families, it is so needed (from a pediatric dietitian seeing some of those struggles first hand).

This was absolutely beautiful, Shan! I stopped breastfeeding when my daughter turned 1 as well and it was a natural transition that both she and my body were signaling me towards. I'm glad that it happened that way, and this video has inspired me to finally do something with my last bag of breastmilk. I've wanted to turn it into a keepsake charm for a while, and this video inspired me to do just that. Congratulations on this next chapter 🤎
@Colin-cb8hv
@Colin-cb8hv Ай бұрын
That’s not a natural transition. Naturally babies are supposed to keep breastfeeding until their full set of baby teeth come in, usually at age 3. Because in nature babies can’t chew food until they get their teeth which definitely isn’t at 12 months.

Omg yes we go through so much as moms. Now my first baby is 19 and it’s so hard to just see him go and live his own life and stepping back while he figures himself out. But worrying about their safety never stops. It’s all about adjusting to different stages. I miss those baby days and toddler days and before teenager days . I wish I could say we stop the sadnesses of phases but being a mom/ parent it’s hard.

I really enjoyed this. This is a great idea for women to have body parties for ourselves. Our bodies go through sooo much. Our bodies constantly give whether to our partners and/or our babies.In particular if you have children, no matter how they come into the world, naturally, c-section, IVF, or however, it is something to be celebrated. ❤️

I really appreciate you being open & honest about your experience with breastfeeding/pumping. It’s not always easy, but it really is so rewarding. My journey w/ breastfeeding was rocky at the start. Long story short, I had to exclusively pump the first 3 months. It hurt, I HATED it! Daughter had weak jaw, tongue & lip tie… I have Raynaud’s Syndrome, elastic nips, & was overproducing a lot. Lots of lactation appointments, clipped lip tie only, jaw + tongue exercises, & we were finally able to breastfeed directly. I had a ton of frozen milk, but baby decided she only wanted straight from the tap. 😂 It worked out well though. I ended up getting to donate over 2,000 oz of breastmilk to local moms! She’s 2 now & still LOVES her breastmilk. I love the bond we have. I’ve had so many people try to convince me to quit w/o any science to argue their point.

Just wanting to share that i have been following you from the veerrryy beginning of the early tgaw days. I am 30 years old now and i have learned so much about selflove and sexuality from you. I come from a very open household and was always able to talk and ask about anything but even so there tend to be awkward chapters you find yourself in growing up in wich you sometimes feel particularly alone. like how do we communicate the things we want to get out of a friend/relationship. How do we navigate adulthood and enjoy all the things it has to offer while being respectful to our own body's and body's we connect with. The way you are able to show us how you communicate in these matters in your video's has always inspired me greatly and has helped me out of a lot of tricky situations. Your video's helped me navigate my way back to myself in past toxic relationships and helped me strengthen my positive relationships. English is not my native language and i feel like i lack the right words but anyway xD. All this to say. I love seeing the woman/wife/mother you've become. And i can only hope that as i grow i can do it with even half as much grace as you do❤

So beautiful and amazing, the ability to produce 60oz of milk for your girls! I understand the emotional Rollercoaster of stopping breastfeeding, I was only able to breastfeed my girls up to 4-5 months before my autoimmune condition flared up and I had to start steroids. It is such a blessing to be able to provide any breastmilk for your girls, and you should be proud of what you accomplished! You will continue to provide them nourishment in so many ways through their futures. I wish I would've celebrated my body as you have here. It does SO much for us and our children, it's important to say thanks! ❤
