Career guidance is an important process , but unfortunately there is limited guidance for medical graduates . So I did a generic talk about what to do after MBBS . I have done it in URDU but If I have enough response I will try to make it in English

with introduction of OET and VISA relaxations . A lot of international doctors are heading to UK. Its not saturated as of yet . Look alternatives PLAB if you can't find seat

Asap after graduation , it allows you to work in GMC is itself is the main benefit , also exempts some parts of MRCEM if interested in emergency medicine etc .as junior doctor

Aoa sir, I have given my final year exam sometime back and now i am free for another's two months before my housejob. Please advice me on how to utilize this time period. Initially i was planning to take oet exam but as you know plab seats aren't available before Nov, 2024 so i delayed that plan for a bit. But i dont want to waste my time. Please tell how can i utilize this time period to prepare for either efficient housejob or further exams?

Waslam, with you get GMC registration can only work in a hospital as junior doctor . Unlike Pakistan you need to do GP training to become one . Or apply to other trainings program

there are couple of factors eg which speciality , type of degree , portfolio etc . Ideally can get middle grade job . But you need to think if you have done specialisation one should go for only membership exams or MTI pathway

you don't need CESR to get into speciality . you may work a middle grade or specialist . CESR in only required if you are looking for consultant post .For general medicine is comparatively easier than other specialities

Focus on you MBBS , Clear your professional as opportunities may differ after 3-4 years .Try to involve in extra curricular activities such as Society Rep , Research , Leadership activities , Teaching etc

after FY training , it takes 8 years . But there are different hurdles and steps in this process . However it would be at least 8 years

There is not set timeline , alot of factors . But roughly 2-3 years would an ideal estimate . Specialisation is 4-6 years depending on speciality Salary would he around 3000-5000 dollar /month again varies

@@tariqalam6896 if you have done house job in Pakistan you can get jobs as junior doctor as SHO/CT1/CT2/ST1/ST2/FY2 all are same level more or less . MRCS is easier comparatively to MRCP in general . Yes people do it with job

1: as far as I know Dubai doesn't offer any residency. Wages are good and tax free . 2: FCPS is required if you want to work as specialist
