My exploration began in the quaint village of Rubeņi, where I had the privilege of staying at the charming guest house known as Denderi. Surrounded by rolling hills and the soothing melody of rustling leaves, Denderi became my home away from home, a peaceful retreat where the warmth of Latvian hospitality welcomed me.
On my very first day, curiosity led me to Ainavu Krauja, a place of untouched beauty and mystery. Here, I wandered through ancient forests, where towering trees whispered secrets of centuries past, and the earth itself seemed to exhale the history of this land.
The following morning, the road beckoned once more, leading me to Sigulda, a town steeped in legends and framed by the stunning Gauja River valley. Sigulda revealed itself as a treasure trove of Latvian heritage, where each step brought me closer to the past.
In the shadow of the towering Gauja valley, I marveled at the majestic Turaidas Castle, a centuries-old sentinel that stood proudly against the test of time. Its stone walls whispered tales of knights and nobles, and its ramparts offered breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape.
