Hey professor, really nice content. Would be very cool if you can share with us your complete history from yours first moments of interest about programming to being a Dr./Prof. I'm a self taught dev with 4 years ox experience. Starting a BSc in Computer Science next month.

what experience do you have? why did you decide to get a CS degree? and what do you want ultimately from getting a CS degree (which job?) I'm starting in 2 months (BSc in Computer Science) in Southampton and can't wait! Which uni are you going?

At what point do you consider you've learnt a programming language. I've written programs in C, Java, PHP, javascript, Fortran, Python and Perl. but I do not feel I really know any of these languages, because I don't consider myself fluent in any of them. I constantly have to look things up, to remind myself how to do certain things. Its never ending.

I would compare it with learning a language, when you survive a day using the language without constantly looking things up that’s a good level, then two days, then a week, … also it depends on what you look up. If for instance you know you want to use malloc but just want to reconfirm the parameters that’s also a good level already.
