What helps me to practice is just talk to everyone. Getting practice talking to strangers is the key. Maybe start with the cashier at the grocery store, even if they are an old lady.

You’re totally right, is all about having confidence. And yes, I too made the mistake when an attractive girl and woman looked at me, to look away rather than making eye contact. Don’t have a good excuse, instead like you said, is about being confident and not afraid of being rejected.

She thanked me, then on one class time she smiled as she was coming in, but then one time as soon as she seen me go into class she turned her head away from me as fast as lighting speed lol, she later on dropped the class like 3 weeks ago and we'd just ignore each other, she wasn't friendly
