How to improve your mood and turn a bad day around when you feel down, low, and/or sad, and/or all of the above because it happens to the best of us. 🙈 Thank you HelloFresh for sponsoring this video ❤️ For $30 off your first week, visit bit.ly/2sJdYxJ (HelloFresh website) and enter 'rowenatsai30'
A bajillion thanks to the cutest bbyVIVIANXVAN for helping me shoot this video. This video wouldn't exist without ya. ily ily!! Guys, go show her channel some love :p bit.ly/2HTzgw7
•••
Quoted The Power of Now (book: amzn.to/2GQ1W88) throughout the video, this book served as a catalyst for me to find myself and my north star, and helped me greatly in coming out of my darker days during my last year of college. I'd highly, highly recommend it 🙏
➊ [0:45] Go outside
“Any action is often better than no action, especially if you have been stuck in an unhappy situation for a long time. If it is a mistake, at least you learn something, in which case it's no longer a mistake. If you remain stuck, you learn nothing.” -The Power of Now
➋ [1:34] Be present
“The past gives you an identity and the future holds the promise of salvation, of fulfillment in whatever form. Both are illusions.” Our reality is the present, the now." -The Power of Now
“As soon as you honor the present moment, all unhappiness and struggle dissolve, and life begins to flow with joy and ease. When you act out the present-moment awareness, whatever you do becomes imbued with a sense of quality, care, and love - even the most simple action.” -The Power of Now
➌ [2:30] Treat yourself
⇨ Hot chocolate (Yelp) bit.ly/2Fe85xA
⇨ Mr. Holmes (Yelp) bit.ly/2GOWPFg
➍ [3:25] Write
⇨ Book (Gratitude): 5 Minute Journal: A Happier You in 5 Minutes A Day amzn.to/2sZCHhD
⇨ Prompt: Free writing/expressive writing (Psychology Today) bit.ly/2d0RDPu
⇨ Prompt: Write your own eulogy-can't seem to find the original article so I'll type it out "Imagine you have to write your own eulogy after you have passed away. You have lived a fulfilling life. Take time for yourself and think back on the life you would have lived. It will help you to consider these questions:
- How would you like to be rememeber after you died?
- What kind of husband/wife or child or parent would you say you were?
- What kind of friend and colleague would you say you were?
- What would you like to have accomplished in your life?
- What is the legacy you would like to leave behind?
- Write down how you would have lived and what you would have done.
⇨ Article: To Be Happier, Start Thinking About Your Death (NYT) nyti.ms/2CMaCdi
➎ [4:21] Do that thing you've been meaning to do
➏ [5:14] Spend quality time with people you love
➐ [6:07] Practice acceptance
“Don't look for peace. Don't look for any other state than the one you are in now; otherwise, you will set up inner conflict and unconscious resistance. Forgive yourself for not being at peace. The moment you completely accept your non-peace, your non-peace becomes transmuted into peace. Anything you accept fully will get you there, will take you into peace. This is the miracle of surrender.” -The Power of Now
➑ [6:40] Remember it's all temporary
“Your outer journey may contain a million steps; your inner journey only has one: the step you are taking right now.” -The Power of Now

This was great, thanks, I've been looking for "why am i always sad" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Ever heard of - Kansaac Piymma Remedy - (do a google search )? It is a smashing one off guide for discovering how to deal with depression minus the hard work. Ive heard some unbelievable things about it and my brother in law got cool results with it.

when im really down or sad i usually start hating myself and blaming myself for being this way. so lately i started doing a self care routine every time i'm sad. idk it's really healing for me and it immediately cheers me up. i take a bath, do some yoga and/or mediate, jam to my favourite songs in my room, read my favourite book, try out some new hairstyles and paint or draw. doing things i enjoy and love doing really cheers me up every time and usually makes me forget the reason why i even got sad in the first place c:

Do something nice for someone else. When I'm feeling particularly sad or anxious, I try to do something nice for my roommate, my brother, anyone really. It can be anything, doing the dishes or bake a cake to see my roommate smile, call my brother only to tell him one of our stupid private jokes and hear him laugh over the phone. Try it and enjoy.

This was a really great video. Thank you for the tips learned on how to get through some sad times. Your integration with hello fresh was also awesome and genuine. This is HOW I feel commercials ought to be. Calm and both factually and emotionally informative. No yelling at the audience to force them to pay attention. :D

Since I have been a TV producer in Radio and TV Broadcasting Class, working with a director, anchors, studio director, production assistant, camerapeople, writers, reporters, I am so stressed out.. I get away from a city, visit my parents, I feel fine but when I am back in, start crying. Thanks for sharing a practical video, Sam
