Battery dies so quick and it uses so much memory. But other than that it's pretty sweet. It also seems to be overheating. Went through 1.5 batteries in less than 20 mins filming and just playing with settings. The ones that overheat are probably the ones that brick.

I ws thinking on get rid of my T3i, but now i love it more. I already have the ML and CineStyle, also a battery grip and 4 batterys!! Ill try a prime lens this weekend. Do you think i still have nice shots with a 28mm?

You should also try "Metabones Speed Booster t3i", It will not only increase the f-stop by 0.8 and make f-1.8 lens a f-1.0 lens but make the 50mm lens look 50mm like it looks on Full Frame Camera's (If you're not aware t3i have cropped sensor compared to 35mm sensor of full frame cameras like 5d m4). So even kit lens like 18-55mm F-3.5 to F-5.6 will become 27-72mm F-2.7 to F-4.8

Hey Stephen, I was wondering what color profile you used on your gh4 to match to canon's cinestyle? Your test is very close in color, did you have to go crazy color grading it?

Not at all! I did it by eye actually then double checked with scopes in premiere. I shot in Cinelike d. Hope this helps :)

The Canon Rebel line doesn't really have good auto focus during video, it's fine for pictures when using the viewfinder but if you want good auto focus while recording video you will have to look at more expensive cameras like the 80D

You can find a 50mm prime lens on amazon for ebay for $75-$100. Look into getting a used battery grip if you are on a budget. MagicLantern is free to download online as well

The g7 is a fantastic camera! Coming from a Canon DSLR to the G7, you get so much more clarity and sharpness and just a bunch of different features. If you can keep your DSLR and buy a new camera, do it. Both are great cameras! But remember, it's what is in front of the camera that makes the real difference. Lighting, composition, color, movement. So much that is not dependant on the camera!
