Samuel and Audrey - Travel and Food Videos

Hello, all you foodies! Today we’re back at it showing you what to eat in Argentina, this time in the town of San Martin de los Andes in northern Patagonia. In today’s Argentinian food tour video we’ll show you that it is possible to take a break from all the steak and pasta, by highlighting some fun yet healthy options like potato soup in shot glasses, a barley bowl with shrimp and grilled veggies, and a salmon and pumpkin wrap. But because old habits die hard, we’re also going to take you out for some grilled steak 'a lo pobre' and some plump ricotta ravioli in a cream and bacon sauce. I mean, after all, we are in Argentina! We’ll then follow this up with afternoon tea in a cosy cabin atop a mountain where’ll we’ll feast on mini-sandwiches, scones with cream and jam, and all sorts of baked goods and cakes. If this sounds appetizing, stick around for another edition of what to eat in Argentina!
Restaurants we ate at in San Martin de los Andes:
1) Zen Tea
- Shot of potato, ginger, onion soup
- Breadsticks with carrot and curry dip
- Barley and shrimp wok with grilled veggies
- Grilled salmon and pumpkin wrap
2) Helados Mamusia
- Three ice cream flavours: strawberry with chocolate, Baileys, and extreme dulce de leche
3) Tío Paco
- Steak 'a lo pobre' (with caramelized onions and a fried egg on top) with potato wedges
- Ricotta ravioli in a cream sauce with bacon, chicken and walnuts
- Malbec wine
- Cheesecake and coffee
4) Casa de Té Arrayán
- Two types of green tea
- English-style afternoon tea with 3 tiers of sandwiches, scones, baked goods and cake

WHAT TO EAT in Argentina 😋 | Our ARGENTINIAN FOOD TOUR of San Martin de los Andes 🇦🇷:
Hey guys! We are Samuel and Audrey, a travel vlogging couple from Canada. In this travel channel we share our travel and food vlogs while touring the world.
We had the privilege of traveling around Argentina for nearly 3 months from January- April 2019 on a trip covering a large section of the country.
We kicked things off with several days in Buenos Aires where we were joined by Audrey's parents eating and sightseeing around some of our favourite neighbourhoods in the city. We then flew from Buenos Aires to Cordoba where we spent a couple of weeks in the Sierras of Cordoba visiting both La Cumbrecita and Villa General Belgrano with highlights including hiking and delicious German and Swiss cuisine.
Our time in Patagonia continued as we headed from east to west trading more barren landscapes for thick forests, impressive mountains and magnificent lakes. We spent significant time in both Esquel and El Bolson with day trips to visit Trevelin, Parque Nacional Los Alerces, Cholila and Lago Puelo. Highlights included sailing, hiking, riding vintage trains and partaking in the national asado festival.
We finished visiting Patagonia with time spent in Villa La Angostura, San Martin De Los Andes and Bariloche where we enjoyed more stunning scenery and hiking. On our way back to Buenos Aires, we took the Tren Patagonia to Las Grutas before meeting up with Audrey's dad again.
To finish off our trip in Argentina, we spent more time in the capital and later Mendoza where we got to experience wine tourism to its fullest extent. Overall, we had an amazing time travelling around Argentina having only scratched the surface of this vast and diverse country.
Overall our Argentina travel series explores cities, small towns that are off-the-beaten-path, and scenic attractions with a strong emphasis on Argentina cuisine and local culture.

Luckily we do have a lot of Argentine products here in Germany (either online or in South American Food Stores) and as much as I love to make my own alfajores and medialunas it is never the same as having them in a cafe in Buenos Aires. The ravioli looked delish. Samuel, I know you once said you thought the pizza in Buenos Aires is the best in the world (and I don't doubt that). I once saw these other vloggers the Delightful Travellers say that they both thought the best pizza they've had in the world is in Sao Paulo, Brazil (all around the city, not just one location). I don't know if you've tried it, but I thought I'd pass that info along.
