When you have inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD), and are in the middle of a flare, it is very important to avoid foods that may trigger additional symptoms and choose foods that are healing and nutritious. Watch and listen to learn more on dietary recommendations when in a flare.

The don’t skip meals part is laughable. I literally cannot eat during a flare or even drink anything sometimes. I go days without eating, sometimes eating half an orange or 2 crackers and I’m so sick that food repulses me and makes me dread the pain I’d be in if I ate it. I try to drink pedialite to replenish electrolytes or drink nutrition protein shakes for some kind of nourishment bc that’s easier than trying to eat solid food but even that can be very difficult to tolerate. I pray anyone who has Crohn’s disease learns what their body needs to reverse this affliction. I know it’s hard. I know it hurts. I know you just want it to go away but be strong. Listen to your body. Love your body. Love you ❤️

Taylor just want to say say I know how you feel 😭 currently dealing with this now, I drink lots of protein shakes. I recently tried using cannabis to help my symptoms and it helped me a lot to the point where I was able to keep nutritious food down. You should look into it even though I know it’s not traditional medicine. Good luck girl may you continue to have the strength 🙏🏻

ive always heard that it is good to skip some meals so you can give your body some rest feom digesting foods. i believe things are different for everyone but its always worth to try so we can figure out what works best for ourselves. wishing every body that deals with this some relief and strength. be strong, always.💕

Love YOU!!! and all of us going through this. Been diagnosed for 2 yrs now and still figuring it out. But that part was laughable to me as well. With the pain, its almost impossible. Cannabis was a godsend for me. Without it, idk where I'd be. I went from 185 to 120 in a matter of a few years. Now I'm at a healthy and average 145 for my age and height. 😍 but seriously cannabis. The fruits and banana part was cringe for me because with colitis you can't break down these raw foods easily. I can't even tell you the last time I had a banana was or even a salad. They will have me bent over in the bathroom for hours with endless diarrhea. Don't touch raw fruits and veggies. Oh and depending on your belly, I've come to realize warm milk in the morning helps me. It coats your stomach lining, the milk stops my watery stool for a while to. Just all around comfort. I hope this stuff might help someone. It took me two years of agony and GI doctors to figure it out. Mess around with foods and stay away from things that stress you out, smoke a bowl. It changed my life. But every month, at that time of the month, Thats when I have the most problems because I have Endo as well.. But seriously. I hope this advice will help people. Much love. 💖

same here, i’m a food lover but during the worst of my flares i can’t bear to eat much of anything. my mom will try to get me to eat some crackers or dry cereal, but i just can’t. it sucks. i tend to eat those things as well as a ton of plain white bread with peanut butter once i feel a bit better.

I can’t believe the advice here is to eat bread and pasta... when I eat those two things I’m like “oh no, what have I done” because those give me flare ups, I can’t believe they would honestly suggest grains, the main culprit, is this a joke? I’m laughing
@hheinous
@hheinous 3 жыл бұрын
like the video said, trigger foods can vary wildly. like, he mentioned cantaloupe is a safe food but i tried eating that not long ago and i was in a world of pain! funnily enough white bread and pasta are safe for me. it’s crazy how much this disease can be different for different people.
@anunexpectedfriend
@anunexpectedfriend 3 жыл бұрын
@@hheinous yes that’s true, it does vary from person to person. Since writing the last comment I wonder if bread or any other food is really a major culprit but rather every person has their own personal threshold. For example, some people can’t have dairy, but I eat tons of it and I’m fine, some people can enjoy a splash in their coffee, etc. And even for me, a slice bread or a croissant is typically fine, it’s usually when I eat tons of it that things go wrong. So, lately it’s occurred to me that with everything (unless you are highly allergic), the dose makes the poison. And everyone’s unique body operates differently requiring more or less of different things. My acupuncturist even says, “there are no ‘bad foods’”. I haven’t had issues lately and I’ve been attributing it to my own personal balance of fat protein and carbs, everyone is different and has their own unique balance. I think a major part of me developing these problems is because my diet leading up was extremely unbalanced and consisted majoritively of carbs which I’ve noticed don’t make me feel very well in large quantities. And for someone that may feel like this could help. I also think having a restrictive diet and dieting might be a problem. It’s usually at times where I just eat what I want without restrictions, with VARIETY and fairly balanced, that I don’t even notice anything and I’m fine. Like rn Anyway, I’m sending out love and intent that everyone suffering will find their way to peace in their body

I’m really really sensitive to foods, mostly dairy and gluten, haven’t had animal meat since I was 11, haven’t had dairy since I was 15, that was my own personal choice for the animals but removing animal products from my diet helped my health so much, I’m pretty unhealthy atm cause I’m in a flare, I stopped having gluten only a few months ago but that helped me so so much especially with bloating, bloating still gets pretty bad if I have a trigger food like seeds, or uncooked fruits or veggies, figuring out what I can eat has been pretty hard and I won’t be able to eat many foods but that’s alright I just don’t wanna be in pain anymore, a little jealous of how much other ppl can eat tho.

Vegan works best for me.. But yes blend and easily digestible like cooked veggies during flare-up.. And water fasting has healed my severe UC before, but do GOOD RESEARCH before you try that! And listen closely to your body.. I was flare-up free for almost 8 years since that last bad one that lasted months on end and the meds they gave me at the hospital didn't help at all. Now I have been eating lots of cheese the passed months and I'm in a flare-up for the first time in all those years.. So, I know what to do.. Also my joints are inflamed now. So sucky because I finally found a job that is perfect for me and I DON'T WANT TO BE HOME.. I want to WORK!! But can't.. All those meals you suggest are not good for me at all 4-6 times, gives the intestines no rest at all.. I really don't feel like you really know what you're talking about. At least not for me.
