It reminds me the year I spent in an small town in Canada, people were so nice and easy going. My village in Spain is the opposite, everyone would try to cross first and stressed as if their lives was a matter of one second

Evidently I really should have moved to Wisconsin instead. I moved to LA and their version of this is, barely tap your brakes and then all four proceed into the intersection screaming and honking while simultaneously shouting to anyone in their car about how no one in LA can drive.

The guy pulling a boat certainly gets the right of way. Then the guy pulling the ATV. The guy howling hay goes third, and then the oversized tractor. Most importantly though do not block the intersection from the beer delivery trucks.

Had been wondering how to deal with a particular 4 way stop about a block away from Liberty Tree Tavern and what had been the only stop light in town here on Main St. small town Elgin, Texas. This popped up in recommendations. Please do more, we need the good hearted laughs. Makes one want to go up to Wisconsin and get another Chevy pick up truck, to go with the ones I got already.

I don’t know if it’s a thing up in Wisconsin but in Kansas there’s the wave as you’re passing someone on a country road. The four way stop has faded away along with the wave in recent years. Kansas seemed to have a blending of northern Midwest and some kind of southern? You’ll get the niceties of Midwest depicted here but people tend to have a little twang in their speech. Or most have no discernible accent at all. Very easily understood across most English speakers. It’s why we‘ve supposedly had a long history of people from Kansas getting selected for national network journalism. I don’t know if that’s true but that’s what I’ve heard all my life.

Lol reminds me of my tiny home town in Roosevelt Utah, now I'm in St George Utah and this place would give you a heart attack, I learned to be an aggressive driver here real quick! Not even exaggerating, real talk, you barley pause at a stop sign, speed bump? You best know how to hit them at an angle or drive something lifted because if you slow down or use your breaks with anyone behind you your getting hit... Yellow light most definitely means you better make it through fast as hell so the 2 cars behind you can get through and the one (sometimes 2) cars behind them can speed through the red light before the other lanes light goes green and the other lane starts moving through. Even the cops run yellow and red lights, it's so common here that you can tell when someone isn't from here or is new to the area because they drive the way your supposed to, and literally everyone gets crazy mad, honking, speeding around them, not letting them through, going around them illegally cuz if you get stuck waiting behind them when they're waiting for a chance to get into moving traffic, and their only chance it's so small and takes 20 minutes between chances, your gonna be late, you don't wait for an opening to get on the road, even if you somehow get lucky enough to find an opening, someone is gonna suicide it from a parking lot, drive thru, another lane, across the road dodging other cars like that frogger game and poof! Your small opportunity is gone now! You just jump into traffic and go... Fast! It's insane. My anxiety used to be sky high trying to drive here, now I just try to get where I'm going as quick as possible, there are no rules here. These roads are pure anarchy! People are nuts. I have no idea how these people got their license or how they are all still alive to be honest. It gets scary lol! Never in my life seen as many horrible drivers as I have here in St George and I've been all over the United States

In Los Angeles everyone goes at once regardless of who was there first. Cairo has more considerate drivers. There’s also an unwritten rule that if someone puts on their turn signal everybody speeds up so they can’t change lanes. Never use your turn signal when sitting, I mean driving in traffic in Los Angeles.

Near DC, they took out almost all the four way stops because they were basically just four - eight car accidents waiting to happen.

You missed the part where someone pulls up next to you(going the other way) and then stops and blocks the whole road so they can chat driver window to driver window. No one gets mad at this of course, we just wait for them to head on their way once they notice they are blocking us.

In South Dakota the taking thing is not really done but the head nod is or the Midwest driving wave but what is at the 4 way is the person there first gets to go not on the right and if they go at the same time it is hand waving the other person every time the drivers who did show up at the same time. Only thing is if you end up with people from a few specific tribes in South Dakota they think they are entitled and can go before everyone else even if they are last to the intersection and just drive though, same for some white people living right on the edge of a specific tribe, they will just drive on not noticing there is a 4 way stop thinking they are uncontrolled intersections. Oh and watch for Deer or in some places also Antelope coming from the ditches or similar from the tall grass fields in right seasons or a loose cow/bull if the farmer is raising their cattle near the faster roads a dumb Idea or they happen to be at the time near the roads for some reason. I have even seen in South Dakota a dog herding a cow in a 400 person town as we went through after hunting Deer where we went for several years before the owner kicked us out. We did nothing wrong just the deer ended up dying too close to some barn but we shot it far away from there just it died near there after a shock and 1/2 mile run and he thought we killed it there. Then in Our State Capital Pierre (Pier) I saw on a road a Tractor, the big wheels same as back type go on the busiest road, one that leads to the highway, it was a New Holland, I could not mistake the blue body with white top like a reverse Culvers.
