I had emergency 🚨 Aortic Dissection surgery with the news that it was life and death. The Surgeon told me that, if he couldn’t mend it, once he had tried, that I would die. I never expected to wake up. Three weeks of intensive care and a week in a drug induced coma. How do you thank a man who saves your life? I haven’t seen him in the last ten years since discharge. Wonderful, clever man.

It has been 4 years since my CABG procedure. Having confidence in your surgeon will reduce your stress.

Glad that these folks are so lucky after surgery. My experience has been so much worse. I had a narrowing aortic valve but had no issues before surgery. Once the valve was replaced, I have had breathlessness, faigue, ongoing chest pain, dizziness and have nearly blacked out while climbing, something that I had done for years before surgery. My cardiologist had me expecting huge improvements in well being but after 8 months, I would give anything to have rejected an aortic valve replacement. Please do youself one favour and get the opinion of more than one specialist.

I had and atrial septal defect that got repaired November of 2019 it’s very common and can usually be repaired with a catheter but mine was too big so I had to have open heart surgery and they didn’t catch it bc they couldn’t hear the murmur till I was 12 bc the bigger the hole or defect the harder it is to hear

When I had open heart surgery I thought it would be crazy painful after. But the only parts that were bad was the amount of drugs I was given and puking.

I guess everyone here will testify how the aftercare nurses are absolutely marvelous; they dont call them Angels for nothing.

I had my second open heart surgery in 2010 when I had my aortic valve replaced. I have to say, even though recovery was tough and painful, I was treated so well by hospital staff. The only complaint I have is that the nurses started my new medication for heart rhythm before eating breakfast (although my label says to take with food) and it made me too sick to eat...

I had a triple bypass. Spent 24 hrs in ICU. I woke up in my room and had no IV's. A nurse friend came to visit and was surprised that I had no Iv's. I couldn't even get up to get myself water.

Mom had bypass surgery June 28, 2021. It'll be 2 week for her in ICU this coming Monday. Progress is slow. She's going through so much. I just think maybe we made the wrong choice. Maybe she should have gotten the stint.

Going under the knife for the docs to fix my hole in my heart. I also have a form of hemophilia and I'm crazily worried I'm going to die. I'm in the fence about getting it because of this and I don't want the surgery. My doctor said I can live to 50 before heart failure and my other said in 10-15 years complications would start. I'm fine with that. I'm 26 so that'll give me a good 24 years. I just feel like I'm being forced to have the surgery because I'm young and apparently need the surgery. My first doctor that said I have 10-15 years, said I could have medications instead of the surgery but it wouldn't fix the hole. I'd do anything to get around having this type of surgery and I mean anything. This video doesn't calm my nerves or anything and all the comments just make me more worried because of how everyone is describing things.

My husband had a heart transplant. He used a ventricular pump for a year until he received a heart. What they don’t tell you about heart transplants is that you will have to take about 30 pills a day and inject yourself with insulin, and as a result, you’ll die from “Renal Failure.” My husband existed for about 8 years and died at age 64 with the stamina of a 98-year-old man. His father lived an extra year without going to any doctor. Heart transplants are a money-making business just like sex transplants and liposuction, etc. My husband’s insurance covered over a million dollars in treatments. Most appalling is the treatment he received in the hospital that listed him as terminal. His shoulder bled from needle catheters for 3 days because his platelets weren’t clotting and had nose bleeds for hours and was left to bleed. When transferred to the ICU, he was placed on a 24-hour dialysis machine that shut off within the first five minutes for about eight times consecutively, but they kept scheduling the failing treatments, and he had to have several blood transfusions. Despite this, the doctors reported that his statistical numbers had improved. He was continuously tested, medicated, pronged as teams of doctors and personnel made their morning rounds to claim interest to his insurance money. My husband was cognitive; yet, his body was washed and rubbed down like a stable horse by nurses who just saw him as a job like his doctors. He never saw his cardiologist who was in the doctor’s lounge, three doors down although he asked for him daily. He was not in respiratory distress and was breathing on his own and his lungs were clear, but the doctors installed a ventilator hose down his throat whose diameter was as large as a baseball. Later, I researched and discovered that an endotracheal tube taped to the corner of the mouth was supposed to be used and only the ventilator hose was used for brain damaged patients. I was so distressed by the inhumane treatment of my husband that I went to a lawyer. “The law is that hospitals can not be sued for patient care if the patient is listed as terminal.” When a person is listed as terminal, he/she should be treated with dignity and comfort; yet, many hospital professionals just see them as money cows and subhuman objects that become statistics whether they are alive or dead. The system is beyond change because money is the controlling factor that makes a lot of people act inhuman. You probably will not believe me and think of me as angry or irate. The bottom line is in this society, all doctor are dedicated healing gods, and the medical professionals are beyond approach. . . Lately, I have been reading about Dr. Deepak Chopra, an alternative medicine advocate.

Wow im 38 have a twin sister we both at birth had heart problems i and my twin had a leak in the aorta valve a leak underneath my twin sister had hers corrected at age 6!mine the male was only fixed until later life at age 11 i went to fix my leak in the aorta valve by an English man called gladstone, never will at that age forget his name.. Im a boy of a twin sister my mum and dad who went through this as there son who are now dead i have to go again to fix it that willl be 3 ops

If they removed veins from leg prepare for nasty pain. But your leg can save your life so take some painkillers. I felt great after cabgx4 in 2017. Still do in 2023! Life's good. Retired after 36.5 yrs at last employer. Had great Aetna insurance. Now Medicare. ❤
