Step 1: think you are prepared and won't cry Step 2: try not to cry Step 3: cry a lot Step 4: Take the exams Step 5: After the exams, you finally understand the topic Step 6: Cry even more Step 7: ask your instructor for a curve or extra points Step 8: "How the fuck did I pass the class" this guide skips over a lot of stuff but for each class physics-related, these are the steps for success

Step 8....every time. I freak out thinking for sure I am going to fail or god willing scrape by with a low C then grades come in and its a low A or high B and I am like WTF? HOW? I got 60s on 3 of my 4 exams! Lol never ignore honework, reports, labs and projects. My last waves and heat/thermo project was a doozy but it saved my grade. They add up in the end so dont igbore things because they are only 5 or 10% of your grade...when push comes to shove every little bit helps and it might very well save your ass.

I was lucky in that I took Physics 1 & 2 at a community college, where my professor deeply enjoyed his work and came up with unique quizzes and tests. I was also lucky in that the homework for both classes were from the textbook, and did not have an online component to them. I enjoyed those classes a lot, however, Physics 2 still did not prepare me as much as I thought it would for my Electric Circuit Analysis class.

In Sweden we pretty much spend our first year in Engineering Physics on slightly more formal versions of high school math and physics courses, as well as a course on MatLab - I kinda liked that year, since it felt like a very solid foundation, and the 2nd-year courses would often use Gauss's Theorem, which was a very satisfying continuation.

Donald Trump Similar to my university. Same material in physics 1 and 2, but the physics major variant of the class was far more focused on the theory and derivations. From what I have seen from engineers and other stem majors, the non-major version of the class had alot more “formulas” where we were specifically told not to rely on formulas but more rather understand a problem and derive a solution.

AP Calculus BC is calc 1 and 2. Precalculus is entirely separate.

Wait so I passed Math 1, I have a hard time memorizing and staying focused. But I love the universe and the subject of physics. It’s just the math that’s intimidating. Should I take it?

no

I think you should take it but be prepared for the math by taking advantage of online tutoring or making study groups with your peers. Loving to understand the universe is the first step to wanting to major in physics :)

In what order of would you reccomend self teaching university physics? Classical mechanics first?

Learn the math first every thing would follow, calculus, differential equations, linear algebra. KZfaq has everything clear explained

@@lazarusm1194 why shoud he? Of course its not the thing you shoud start with but if u know the math you can try
@tomkerruish29823 жыл бұрын
I'd say yes. Everything else is based on it, concepts like force, linear and angular momentum, kinetic and potential energy, and so much more.

@@lazarusm1194 yeah i can understand that. Its really hard. But i as 14 physics and math nerd am ubsessed with it and Wanne learn it ;)

@@lazarusm1194 Thanks. Yeah I know. I have now at least a basic knolwege of the things you are talking about but I want to get really good at the math first. Therfore I am currently reading " math metods for physics and engineering " and do some of the exercises
