i would’ve compared this game much more to dead cells , it’s practically the same mechanics movement etc … and it’s the exact same concept in terms of bosses and replay ability with the feature to expand the loot pool

I noticed you included the spells in when you were talking about weapons, weapons and spells are technically two different things seeing that only weapons have a cool down while only spells use mana

Hey guys, I’ve spent about 3 hours ingame today, and I do just want to warn you. this game is ROUGH. Like maybe the toughest roguelike I can think of. The damage taken is INSANE and you rarely get to heal, if you like extremely punishing games that kick you into the dirt this is the game for you. Honestly, at this stage it almost feels too tough though, maybe due to it’s alpha state. The overall progression doesn’t feel very noticeable compared to it’s counterparts hades etc, which makes it feel really really punishing. shame it’s combat is so fun though bc I’m still hooked and trying to get further

Yea the combat is really fun and the progression doesn't feel noticeable I'll agree. The two times I've cleared the game I've had absolutely BUSTED runs as a couple spells do give you healing, but outside of those spells the healing is inconsistent as hell. I have high hopes for the game to improve though overtime

@@Burr_ Yeah honestly if they just add a more consistent method to heal the game would be amazing. At the moment it just feels like you’re completely subject to RNG, which is fine in a roguelike, but when it’s RNG for if you have 10hp or 80hp going into a bossfight that resets your run completely it kinda just gets annoying, defo needs a look at

I never get over your voiceover voice (in a good way)! I am soooooo on the fence about this game. Definitely my aesthetic, but I haven't even given Hades a try. I feel I enjoy watching Rogue-lites more than playing 'em. But so torn....

I'll be streaming it a good amount hopefully. I get that feeling also of being on the fence.So many good roguelikes and roguelites out there but so little time, the good thing is that rogues tend to be cheaper than most games

@@Burr_ agreed! The fact that it's under $20 makes me feel better about purchasing it down the line even if I dont play it for hours on end, kinda thing. But I'll definitely try to pop in to watch the streams. Time never seems to allow for it 😭

I really liked the video. You provided a nice (mostly unbiased) review of the game. I liked how you had the section on improvements - it shows that you aren't just inflating the likability of the game. This game definitely seems cute and like something I might try to pick up. Thanks Dylan. ☺️

This is my first day with the game, overall I really like it, but you have like checkpoints or something like that? I just killed Brad, then i died fighting with a Petrol, and now I need to start all over again? thats frustraiting...

Nope, no checkpoint system. Gotta keep going through. Game is very unforgiving, but you will learn Brads moveset pretty fast and find yourself dominating him a good amount really soon

are the levels procedurally generated?

The floors determine what you will get but from what ive seen the floors typically have the same sort of paterns. Enemy spawn rate also seems to be similar depending on which room you choose to go through

It has very small metroidvania aspects but it's still more of a roguelike I feel with how you restart to the same spot in the beginning if you die or complete a run

@@Burr_ yeah, my biggest issue is that the curses don't really feel impactful or game changing (besides for a few really strong ones). Almost every run just felt the same as the previous run to a point where it all just blended together. Take Issac, gungeon, hades, ect. You can make it so each run feels unique and makes you use different play styles.

Yes and it's not pronounced "dee-ah- less". Things have specific correct pronunciations. There are multiple really weird pronunciations in here where you can tell (because they are very common words) he someone how never ties the words to they're spelling and didn't just take 10 seconds to ask someone else or Google how they're supposed to be said. Threw me off because I never heard them failed so spectacularly. Not even by small children.

werent you taught as a "small child" not to say anything at all if you have nothing nice to say? are you a speech therapist? if not, you can't speak on a subject like that lol. different people from different parts of the world have different dialects, that's just life. humans move out and adapt different patterns of speech and we have for centuries.

Unless you’re offering speech therapy services at a discounted price, don’t tell people on the internet how dialect works because clearly you don’t yourself.
