When choosing your next gaming mouse, what should you look out for? What's the best gaming mouse for you and your use-case?

Don't buy a g603 for sure -_- , just over a year the scroll wheel doesn't function anymore, if you scroll a minute, you would see the screen jerks slihhtly up and down on the same lines ... And basicly stay as if you never attempted to scroll. Soon i am returning it for warranty and ask for An upgrade or sidegrade.

I am using my g700 that i kept as back up from my hardcore gaming days. Because of worn out batterie it was shelved for needing the cord non stop. Otherwise although a bit worn , it still does a great job. Back then they we're build to last atleast...

Check the polling rate of the mouse. 125 and 1000 Hz makes a difference, at least I felt it while playing League of Legends. Polling rate is BTW how often does your pc get the signal from your mouse/hand movement.

What is the differense between having a heavy mouse with high dpi and a light mouse? I got the logitech 502 and use 4000 dpi and wonder if i should get something like the popular model o. Iv'e used the rival 310 before and i like both but prefer the logitech since it's more comfy. I may get the model d since organamic means it's comfortable right?

It all comes down to individual preferences. If you use a palm grip then it would be better to have a heavy and ergonomic mouse that you move slowly. If it's a claw grip then lighter weight and fast movements might be a bit better. I personally never could use a symmetrycal mouse or a claw grip and prefer mice like G502.

i would have appreciated a little more talk about the sensors.....how to tell bad sensors from good sensors in a mouse and what the difference in sensor's look like in cheap mice then expensive ones

there's one thing i would have said differently in the programmable buttons (also known as macros) section: it's not about the type of game if it's a shooter or an MMO, it's about the game itself and how many functions it has that need quick access. the easiest example i can give is Fortnite. yes it's a shooter game, but there are so many functions and mappable buttons, that having macros on the mouse is actually recommended. most people use a mouse with macros in order to have more functions be quickly accessible since you'd need a button for each build piece as well as each weapon. and maybe you want to assign quick pings as well you'll need extra buttons.

I have a mouse with 2 levels of DPI and I only found out what it does now. Big difference in mouse speed. The thing is that it's left button is broken and that is why I'm looking for new mouse. Oh, well, Now I know.

I usually have max windows sensitivity with 1400dpi. I rock a Logitech 502 Hero.

Dpi is 400, 800, and 1200. That's it no way you need higher use in game settings to make it the way you want. Also wireless is not an issue anymore. Little bias on that point. Pros use wireless soooo.......

Wired is always the way to go I've always had problems with wireless mice and I have good cable management so no clutter. I do agree with the very high dpi point here 16,000 is way to much I know the logitech hero has this it's a bit extream. Mine is 4,000 and I have the setting for gaming lower as the max is just way to high for me.

my friend bought g pro wireless recently and I tried it and it was light and very precise. You know that lag is mostly determined by pcb and sensor and reciever. So high quality mouse like that has same lag as quality wired mice.

Your statement on dpi isn't correct. I use 3200 dpi on 720p No it's not crazy sensitive, Just lower cursor speed, u're good to go Higher dpi is always better in gaming

Tracking is very poor with trackball mice, optical sensors nowadays are far better. Top optical sensors (3366, 3360, 3389, 3390, 3310, 3988, 3989, 3330 etc) are all so good there is essentially no difference between them.
