Do you use different trowels for blockwork compared to brick? I would imagine you'd need a big blade for the muck you'd need for blocks.

WHS Tyzack 10 inch wide heel. Best trowel I've ever used. Incredibly hard to come by for myself though.

I've been using the Ox for a couple of years now. Comfy handle and solid blade. I really don't like the blades with flex like the Marshalltown.

Ox are a nice trowel but I think the black bumper on the end of the trowel handle is still giving trouble ( falls off ) . Chinese or Taiwanese made . Tyzack are nice , again made in china or Taiwan. Bon u.s.a keystone forged range of trowels are very nice, Steel looks good they are manufactured by ab tokos in Europe in Slovenia. To be fair stu cromptons trowel looks good ( leaving aside all the markings on the blade ) possibly manufactured in Europe.

Rose and Ox are what I've used, they're comfortable and strong. I dont really care for mashalltown... they're more of a novice-diy trowel.

Go for quality and get a proform W Rose trowel. Like narrow London myself. Speedcrete. Limber can ask if like flex or can get a more stiff blade. Low lift handle or normal. Can request whatever may suit. The bon trowel ain’t to bad similar flex to the marshaltown. Scrap all they diy 1,s looking there buddy and go for quality man calibre should be using quality 😎 w rose can from 9 right up 13. All in half sizes also. Can’t go wrong with marshaltown also. Steel on the rose trowels just far better.

The best build quality and miles in front of them more on quality of steel. Can get stiff more ridged blade or limber blade plenty flex. Low lift shank or normal. There rubber proform handles best for me don’t have the stupid finger guard. Get what you pay for.

Rose are made from top class materials. But are very inconsistent in their manufacture. I’d recommend buying rose trowels in person in store , if you find one that suits you it will be top class .I’m not aware of any retailers in the uk or Ireland that sell low lift shank rose trowels or limber blade rose trowels , limber or low lift rose trowels have separate manufacturers part numbers that set them apart from the standard shank rose trowels. The standard shank w.rose trowels are the most variable un uniform brick trowels I’ve come across .

@@brickbybric Speedcrete uk do just need to ask 🤙 also had trowels sent direct from Kraft usa via speedcrete uk took 8 weeks or so but got exactly what wanted and handle which they didn’t put on broad heel trowel. Regards limber blades and low lifts speedcrete no problems. Just ask they will check to see what they have. O’Neil supplies also 🤙

marshaltown 19/11 when its worn in , trowels are best when you think its time for a new one , iv got an old 19/11 years old decided to clean the blade up and bind the handle with insulating tape and it can do as much work as them ones ,bit like yer old pecker big isnt always best ,happy ol christmas boi

The height offset between blade and grip on the third one is too long. I could see right away when you picked it up when that it just looks awkward, which is probably why it doesn’t feel right for you. The size of the blades is crazy - you’ll have to start working out just so you can pick a loaded trowel up, Bud! 😂😂
