Hi Easy Tunisian Arabic! I'm with the Easy Portuguese team from Brazil :) I can't write in Arabic, sorry for that... I have really enjoyed following your work. Impressive how comfortable the interviewees and the interviewer are talking about the topic. I was once a guest at a wedding in Morocco, of course it has a difference from Tunisia, but it had the Henna day and lots of etiquette. It was fun and a very unique experience for me. I've studied Moroccan Darija and Levantine/Shaami Arabic... while my knowledge of the other dialects helps, the French and the speed makes it a bit harder. I understood a decent amount but the subtitles helped a bit.

The amount of French in Tunisian Arabic is very surprising to me! I have never been to Tunisia but I understand they've had a lot of interaction with French speakers over the years. I just didn't expect to hear so much! Fascinating 😎

they had colonizers. Us Arabs from the maghreb are not happy to still have a lot of french in our arabic. It didn't came with happiness but with war and colonization.

@@maliekjcksn Haha you hit a nerve, there is a wide spread hypocrisy regarding the Arabian invasion North Africa and the process of Arabisation , the North African genetic pool is influenced by semetic input and vice versa, but that does not mean we are Arabs, if it was not for the cancer of Islam we would have regained our native identity sooner or later.

@@maliekjcksn Not at all, the tow situations are not comparable. Arabs were quickly kicked out from the Maghreb and Berbers accepted islam and Arabic by their will, after 13 centuries this language is a part of our culture and identity.

I honestly didn't hear "5atrekchi" before, as a tunisian. I heard "5aterchi" tho. Different regions in Tunisia have different accents and some ( or many) different words. But " 3la 5ater" or just "5ater" is more commonly used in the capital at least.
