I remember being a kid playing against my friend who was much better at the game and seeing the horror of a post patch scarab + all engineers. The sheer terror of seeing a well-balanced late game army get annihilated in seconds still haunts me to this day. Probably the only moment that made me feel like the real UNSC fighting the covenant.

Halo Wars 1 is a legit masterpiece.

Prophet used to be on a gravity chair, the devs just swapped it out for a wheel chair.

1:39 It looks SO much better post patch, it's like the base just mobilized a whole garrison and everyone is running out as fast as they can get their gear on or get mounted up.

Prepatch Prophet was just silly on Chasms. You could go Temple first, get the beam upgrade, delete the Temple for the full 500 refund, stop their 3rd building from getting up, then start beaming down their remaining two buildings.

I didn't have my xbox 360 hooked up to the internet my entire childhood so this was just how the game worked for me :)

Haven't watched the video yet but I just wanted to say that this is a good example of "good thumbnails = more views" because the prophet with the flaming tire tracks behind him is pretty silly and got my attention

I nearly forgot about how I use to actually play this game online back in the day. Strategies were (and still are) my favorite type of game back then, but I never, NEVER, did online multiplayer in them. This game however, was the one exception. Even though I was just a kid who usually got beat bad, I actually thought online was more fun than with bots. The battles were just so much cooler online. But I remember I spent so much time playing online, that I actually got good enough to play vs other people and actually have a fair chance at winning. One of my favorite memories of this game was in an online match on a flood map where I rushed mass jump jet brutes. Since the map was essentially layers of rings with chasms in between them I was able to sneak all my brutes behind someone's fully max'd base, jump jet'd them all over the chasm straight onto the same spot and just bursted down the central building before destroying anything else xD.

T1 Gremlins were so annoying. I remember the first cheese combo being mass jackals and gremlins lol

My brother owned Halo Wars on an Xbox 360 we never ended up connecting to the internet... crazy to think that I didn't even notice most of the Anders nerfs when watching some of your other vids because she is still simply that broken...

Mentioning this because no one I've seen has. The 5% damage to turrets when there are four turrets doesnt add up to 20%. It just does 5% more damage than 4 turrets would do before. Lets say supply depot gives you 100/ minute. I buff it by 5% for 105/ minute. Then 10 supply depots would previously give 1000/ minute and now give 1050/minute. That's still a 5% increase.

beam tracking, i think, means that if a unit is strafing around the hunters, the hunters will be able to rotate faster and stay on target more often instead of lagging their beams behind.

In campaign, units still come out of an unlocked base extremely slowly 1 by 1 style even today

The counter to the prophet rush back then was to mack rush 😂.

The cryo reactor glitch worked on ally reactors and covenant temples. There was a time where it was meta to run behind an anders base and disruptor bomb it so they could not cryo bomb it and rush them down.

I need to check some of these things, the slow base unlock units, and gremlins being T1 are true for me so far, Interesting

Holy crap they buff to the grunts to do more against air bro when they get needlers they Dominate and demolish air units adding more damage is amazing you could have this huge infantry column Go versus this huge are Brigade I just watched everything in the sky just start collapsing I think there was one point where we shot down to vulture's with like 50 some odd grunts though I do remember in the old game if you clicked the Infantry fast enough you could get above the unit cap and get at least 51 sometimes 52

Hell no I loved my Gauss hogs I was able to demolished Scarab after Scarab after Scarab with them but after they Nerf the crap out of them they do nothing to the Scarab anymore
