A small rant:
(ALL OF THIS IS SUBJECTIVE AND MY OPINION!)
(I AM NOT TRYING TO ATTACK OR OFFEND ANYONES VEIW ON THIS DLC)
Im realy upest at the fact that by doing a few things you couldnt have known not to do you are inable to get some realy cool and unique rewards. Elden ring taught me that exploring and being curious would often reward me or give me nothing. after beating Rellana i when to explore. i saw a big castle. i went to it. a small event happend in the story that i could have Never have known would happen. i later found out that doing this skips some steps on peoples questlines making some cool items and stuff COMPLETELY INACSESSABLE. I was PUNISHED for exploring. A THING I WAS TAUGHT TO DO BY THE BASE GAME!
I can no longer get some Armor that i wanted or some weapons unless i get someone to drop it for me in multiplayer. thing is i have no one on steam to trade with.
I am realy mad at this and this is just bad game design. Its punishing a thing that once was taught to me by the game and doing it in a way that isnt a new challenge like a few of the new bosses but in a way that Is just insulting and irreversible. I thought that "oh i missed it? i can probably get it later near the end at some point?" NO. no i cant.
I am on NG+2 i am not going through the whole game again and doing small specific things to get these items whilst the game is being much harder in the process.
In no way am i calling this DLC bad. I like it. I am though quite dissapointed at a good few things.
Not to mention some of the weapon ballence is horrible.
I cant give it a 10/10 as much as i want to. i can only give it a 7/10 atm. the fixes can EASLY fix so many problems i have and i hope they will.
About weapons...
I was very dissapointed by them aswell.
A good amount of them have horrible scaling
Almost all of the rememberance weapons are mid at best
8 new weapon types and a max of 3-4 weapons in each. that would be good if there was 3-4 in each but NO. in throwing blades there is only ONE. light greatswwords there are only TWO. Its a real shame because i was really exited for both of these types and the options are SO limmited on them.
AND BALANCING
Almost all of the new intantations and sorceries' are AWFULL. Dont get me wrong, they are fun and look cool but i cant help but switch back to my old ones because the new ones cant do shit. i dont want to but i have to to be able to do shit
An ash of war (if you have done PVP recently you will know it) is COMPLETE BS. Its AOE is disgusting and can apply effects whilst closeing ANY distance incredibly well. funnily enough this AoW can be SO EASLY MISSED. As i did. and now i cant get it or a weapon that i could have gotten.
Difficulty is FINE.
Its part of the very game and what makes it such a great game to me.
But some stuff i am just very dissapointed by.
so many things just feel so underwhelming to use.
This game should be fun.
Some of this new content is not and alot is very underwhelming
I hope alot of it is fixed.
And just to be clear, i am not creating this post because i want to shit on this game and try to convince you its bad. If you are haveing fun, Fine. im not trying to change that.
this post is because i Deeply care about this game and want things fixed as i am not having fun with certain stuff.
this game is amazing and so is the DLC. But A good amount of things NEED fixing and i am very dissapointed by many things as i have seen many people complain about simmilar things.
If you find you are haveing an issue or something you fell needs fixing. SAY IT. BE VOCAL. COMPLAIN.
You have EVERY right to do so as a player.
an exeption to this is with the difficulty. It is hard and was ADVERTISED as a hard game. if you find it hard explore more. find and try new things. Level up. and if you still dont like it and are finding it to hard... dont play. play something you DO find fun. you can still complain. and do complain. if alot of people feel the same way it has a MUCH bigger chance of changing. same goes with anything in gaming.
