Story 10: yeah I'm not proud of it but I also cooked my cat in the cloths drier like that back in the '00s because he decide to sleep there on some clothes I had left in there. Ran it for like a minute before I started hearing his terrified sounds. He was fine and died years later of old age. To this day I always double check things like cloths driers, washing machines, and even dishwashers.

Husband and his stepsister had to take over the handling of their parent’s estate after their elder brothers who were named as joint executors delayed and mishandled the processes. Couldn’t find the only copy of their mother’s will until DH found a pile of papers that his brother had left on our shredder because he couldn’t work out how to turn it on a few days previously. The will and another important document would have been shredded if DH hadn’t gone through the papers or had told his brother how to turn the shredder on.

I think rock climbing is awesome, but unfortunately I had a friend who died as a result of a climbing accident. Check your gear folks, and be careful in any sport.

At 5 AM I was turning into my driveway. I looked down the street as usual, didn't see anyone coming, but something just didn't feel right. So I sat there for 2-3 seconds longer. Someone blew past doing _at least_ 160 km/h. My car would've been torn into two freaking pieces.

I missed the back page of a huge test in high school. My teacher pulled me aside and asked if I'd meant to skip it. When she saw me panic, she just chuckled and let me finish it the next day. She was the best...no idea why so mamy students didn't like her

The guy with crohn's disease, I'm so sorry. I've got it too. I had a really good primary doctor, who sent me to a really good gastroenterology. So, my diagnosis was fast, but not fast enough to avoid an operation.

I'm a diabetic. Several years ago I ended up getting a new type of syringe for my insulin (the measurement was a bit different than what I was used to). When I went to give myself a shot, I misread the measurement and took 10 times the amount of insulin! I'm glad I immediately double-checked, because that much insulin will give you a permanent game over very quickly. Because I checked this, I had my brother on standby with an emergency glucagon shot while I mixed powdered Gatorade with water. The powder to water ratio was so much that I could almost eat the Gatorade. It was horrible, but I was able to live through it, so I can't really complain.

I have never heard the term reach truck in my life until now. Forklift. It's a forklift.

I guzzle drinks. One hot day I was at work, and take a huge swig of coke. For some reason, I held it in my mouth. I never drink for the taste like that. I felt something. I spit it out and there's a wasp (I think Americans call it a yellow jacket but not sure) confused in my coke spit. I wonder if any of the customers noticed.

I've had story 13 happen to me a COUPLE OF FUCKING TIMES. Not with a cockroach though.... usually moths....

A while back me a dna class when to BurgerFi for lunch the plan was we would only have 25 dollars to spend I use the burger fries drink combo to get a milkshake under budget (this was based on the website prices for mobile orders) they rang up the combo incorrectly making the contents of the combo more expensive as they were now showing up individually I notice after finishing my burger and tell them it was rang up wrong. Turns out everyone used that combo and had similar problems I got my whole class free milkshakes.

When i was like 7 i was playing in the living room with my younger brother while a parent made lunch. The smoke alarm went off but because it was always and forever going off i just kept playing. Suddenly i felt odd and i stood up to go double check that it was a false alarm. My mother was trying to put out a oil fire in the stove. I grabbed my brother and ran out of the house. So not like anything would have happened if i hadn't but who knows how long it would have been before I evacuated.
