"Leave me to do my dark bidding on the internet!" "What are you bidding on?" "I am bidding on a table." One of the best mockumentaries ever. Top five, at least. Drop Dead Gorgeous (1999) is another underrated masterpiece. Fun Fact: Theatrical movie debut of Ethel Robinson. Location Location Fact: The hill where the vampires have a run-in with the werewolves is the same hill filmed in The Lord Of The Rings: The Fellowship Of The Ring (2001), where the hobbits are running from the Black Rider and hiding under the roots of a tree. 125-Hour Edit Fact: About 125 hours of footage was shot, most of which was improvisation from the cast. The process of editing that down to a 90-minute movie took almost a year. The directors have stated that they are considering making all the footage available on-line, so that fans can edit their own version. Vampire Homages Fact: Each of the main characters are similar to a vampire from a famous vampire movie. Petyr (Ben Franksham) is analogous to Count Orlok from Nosferatu (1922), Deacon (Jonny Brugh) reflects David from The Lost Boys (1987), Vladislav (Jermaine Clement) is comparable to Gary Oldman's Dracula (1992), Nick (Cori Gonzalez-Macuer) is reminiscent of Edward from Twilight (2008), and Viago (Taika Waititi) is like Louis from Interview With The Vampire (1994).

That makes so much sense. They all displayed characteristics of these respective vampires pretty blatantly. Nick even told people he was like the main guy from Twilight. I hope they release all the footage too, but this was hard to edit for how short it was. Comedy in every scene made it difficult, but fun non the less. Great to hear from you again, I hope you are doing well!

8000 years ago would still be hunter-gatherer culture, that should be around the time Britain became an island due to rising sea levels. IIRC this is when the first mud brick houses are built in Mesopotamia.

yo should check out the tv show is hilarious, and also the two cops they also got a spin off series but i haven't watched it so i don't know how good it is

@@CocktailFlicks The (undead) spirit of the movie certainly carries through the TV series. The spin-off series, Wellington Paranormal, is likewise hilarious. Take my (deadpan) word for it.

You’re right, it’s a perfect little Halloween movie, plays totally traditional tropes straight, which makes it hilarious. It has a happy ending for our heroes, who are sweet and, as far as we can tell, resolutely amoral. I mean, they are vampires, so their morals are… what they are rofl. But consistent. Stuff like the Unholy Masquerade reminds me of one idea that inspired this, which is if people had more time… they would probably just procrastinate more. And have the same problems but for longer. Like the Beast - you don’t get over your ex for hundreds of years. You don’t do the dishes for five years. You dabble in arts but not rigorously enough to get really good. XD Hysterically believable.
