Here's our Paleo version of what we eat in a day. We change up our meals often but this is what a typical day looks like.

My thoughts... Sure maybe not everything they are eating was the same as Gurg and Grug the caveman but they are eating way better than prob 98% of Americans. If this is a blueprint for someone to get ideas on how to change their life in a fundamental level, I'd say save your cynical quips and egotistical palaver and let this stand for what it is. An educational video/motivational video (to some degree) on how easy it is to eat healthy or cultivate a healthy lifestyle. Want to go vegan, do it. If you have already made that choice...why are you watching Paleo videos?!? I'd say more but it's xmas movie time! Well done ladies! *drops mic*

exactly Jason Z, they have a very healthy and most important mostly natural whole foods diet, without all the extra sugars, preservatives, colors, and chemicals. Its also not McDonalds and other junkie no nutritional value foods. We in this day and age will never be able to eat 100% like a cave man but these ladies have done a good job. They eat enough but are aware of their calories not to gain weight, they eat natural and balanced. Kudos to them.

Ive gone from a carnivore, vegetarian, vegan, pescetarian to paleo. Paleo saved my life. It improved my struggle with horrible moodswings and eliviated my depression and anxiety. It's been a challenge for to go Paleo, mostly due to the ethical dilemma of eating meat, although I eat mostly fish, so you could call me a pescetarian paleo. Id rather eat meat for health reasons than to struggle with terrible PMS, depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts etc. I want to live! I think grains and sugar are the biggest culprits for a good health! Both dairy, sugar, prosessed food and grains cause inflammation in the body which wrecks havoc on your gut flora and brain health, which again control neuraltransmission, among them mood. English is not my native tongue so I apologize for any grammatical mistakes.

Yeah the carnivore thing is interesting. Usually cultures only did that when vegetation was sparse. I mean we have salivary amylase in our saliva for a reason so I would suppose we were meant to digest carbohydrates such as plants and fruit. As for meat, we have one of the most potent acids in the world to tear them apart in our stomach. And we have molars to masticate vegetation and canine teeth to rip meat. So weather we were designed to eat it or not, we have obviously adapted and evolved to eating that way. So we are fine. As for increases in fiber as with the vegan diet, our gut profile changes to accomadate but it means alot more gas and defication n to do so. Just know our bodies can change and adjust to eat any "diet". It will absorb and use what it needs and store and excrete what it didn't. A.k.a fiber and excess simple sugar (which becomes fat).

Well, there are plenty of folks who felt terrible on paleo/keto regimes who greatly improved when they got on plants. It is likely that your choice will have long term negative effects but if its the only way for you, I guess you have to do it.

I truly don't understand why you have so many dislikes. Some people are commenting that this isn't enough food. YES, it definitely is. When you're not addicted to processed foods, this is definitely a good amount. Just because you're used to eating 1000 calorie McDonald's meals doesn't mean that's what you're SUPPOSED to eat. Maybe it's because of the loud music? Maybe it's because of the coffee? News flash, nobody has a PERFECT diet, and a little coffee with all of the healthy foods is definitely better than a shitty diet with a side of shitty soda. Either way I gave it a thumbs up. Good video.

YEP narcissistic intolerant cults, I know I tried to go vegan and was around a lot of them, got tired of the bullshit and all the know-it-all attitudes constantly telling me what to do and criticizing. Half of them looked pale, thin, iron deficient and unhealthy. I got hypoglycemic trying vegan, went to paleo with all natural foods - 75% fruits, vegetables, nuts, and lower glycemic grains like oatmeal, all fresh and natural not processed, plus salmon and cod fish, chicken, and even red meat but only 20 - 25% of my diet. However, the difference in my skin tone and health, B-12, iron, Vit-D and overall health is much better, feel better, sleep better, and no more hypoglycemia. What they eat is plenty of food in a day, perhaps a snack in the middle of fruits and nuts would be fine - people think its not enough because they are used to gorging and pigging out, 4000 cal McDonalds, chips, sodas, candies, etc. We no longer understand or even know portion control. I still eat a bit more than I should but am at a very healthy weight, my only cheat is I eat yogurt sometimes (kefir probiotic yogurt drink) and sometimes chocolate, I cant kick that craving for chocolate yet

Well I'm paleo and still eat like a cow - always depending on hunger tho, which is now a really trustworthy sign- or my weight plummets and my period goes away. Also it's more difficult to pump up calories without crap food and flours - I can now eat, and eat, and eat until I'm full, and barely get to my daily 2500kcal requirement. In my opinion, they consume too little calories and too little carbs. Most women NEED carbs to cycle correctly, and going too low can impact health - reproductive, hormonal and mental health, specially. It's a pretty common paleo mistake that I also fell for, and costed me half a year of amenorrhoea.

the comments here are disgusting. as a vegan myself i enjoy watch vegan diets on youtube, i thought i'd watch different diets today though and one being this type. If she wants to eat meat, let her. She is caring for her body, and nobody should be attacked for posting a simple youtube video. This is her lifestlye, accept it. I don't see comments from meat eaters saying such vile things on the vegan lifestyle videos. Ridiculous.

+V Jolie first off I am vegan I do not buy or wear animal products and secondly becoming vegan is not just to help her and me. It's to help the planet. Honestly I could care less about animal suffer I care about the planet we live on to ultimately help everyone. They used 70% of the cut down Amazon forest for cos pastures for meat and leather. We are lowering oxygen and raising co2 levels. By the way it seems as if she wants to be a healthy person but is nutritionally misinformed. We are simply informing her on our biological needs as humans. GO VEGAN! CARB THE FUCK UP!

The commenters here are idiotic. Everyone is mad because they look like shit and people eat animals. Get over it. If you're going to counter with an argument to how unhealthy paleo is please provide a credible source that says otherwise. It's literally the diet that makes the most sense. I train jiu jitsu where I'm constantly complimented on my cardio and physique. People ask me what I'm doing outside of the gym and I tell them I'm eating super fucking clean and minimizing sugar to reduce systemic inflammation. It's literally the diet that makes the most sense and if you can't see that I'm sorry.

thank you for the videos, it is helping me with ideas. I am not 100% paleo but I am eating all natural, no processed or chemically laden fake foods. My diet at this point consists of high concentration of leafy greens (collards, kale, spinach, romaine, bok choy), eggplant which I love, tons of heirloom tomatoes, sweet potatoes, butternut squash, tubers and roots, and tons of all different colors of fruits (all varieties, I eat tons of strawberries, blueberries, mangoes, papayas, cantaloupe, bananas, grapes, cherries, peaches, plums, figs when available, water melon every day lol), bell peppers, and other vegetables like squashes (eat a rainbow). I buy mostly organic when I can and off the local farms (about 1-2 hours drive so I load up once a week) in the summers. I eat grass fed beef, humanely raised chickens and eggs from small local farm where the chickens run free in the yards, and wild caught Alaskan salmon (not farmed). I do this to the best of my budget, though sometimes I might have to buy farmed fish or eat more eggs and fish when I can't afford as much organic grass fed beef. I do cheat a little so its not 100% paleo because I like quinoa, beans/lentils, barley and couscous sometimes. But my diet leans more towards paleo than any other diet, at least in principle it is mostly fresh fruits, greens, vegetables with small amount of meat, eggs of fish each day. Its paleo in that sense and in the sense that I cut out all unnatural, processed, and fake foods that are loaded with junk and chemicals. I drink coffee because I think that is fine, but mostly use almond milk instead of regular milk if I want any milk. Using this method, I lost 40 pounds, feel wonderful so much better than before (due to sufficient protein in diet, freshness and natural foods, and elimination of all junk and processed foods). I wish you much success because even though I am not paleo 100% I believe it is an excellent plan or lifestyle to follow (I just need or enjoy grains a couple of times a week so I am not strictly paleo). What you do does help people make better choices and understand nutrition even if they do not go 100% paleo. Paleo meets all nutritional requirements, and is good for losing weight or maintaining a healthy weight. No more soda, 3-4 liters of water a day for me always now. With all this, coffee doesn't hurt anything.

zucchini and tomatoes are fruit...my girlfriend is vegan and i follow a modified paleo diet. i've had to help her with her macros so as she wasn't lacking in nutrition. vegan diets are fine as long as you know how to get all your macros/micros...especially for those who train rigorously. personally, i raise my own chickens, catch my own fish and shoot my own meat. we try to grow or local source our own vegetables/fruit but that isn't a reality year round. anyone who believes it is cruel or inhumane to kill a chicken or deer has never seen one die from 'natural' causes.

I'm not saying this to offend anyone but I love meat I love how it tastes and nutritionally it makes me feel great. But there is no reason why you can't add certain aspects from each kind of diet. Most of the week I follow a paleo diet approach because carbs such as pasta and rice that many bodybuilders eat contain a lot things that are not really essential for the human body and often hard to break down such as refined sugars. But on the weekend (usually just saturday) I like to cheat a little and help replenish the amount of carbs my body needs and it is what works for me. Many people forget that its about what works best for their bodies...no one else knows how you feel and no one else is going to eat food for you. My comment strayed away from the video but overall the food looks great and it is definitely something I'm going to try to change up my meals. I just feel like so many comment sections on these kinds of videos turn into arguments when realistically we just came here to see what they were cooking up and eating for the day.

@amy_rene
@amy_rene 8 жыл бұрын
+Rupa Vachaspati Acne breakouts can be a common detox symptom, since a lot of changes could be happening (especially in your gut) from changing to a paleo diet. Otherwise you could be sensitive to some certain foods you're now eating more of (maybe eggs or nuts?). Maybe stick with it a bit longer and see how you go!

I have to eliminate sugars and carbs to starve the candida in my stomach. Can I still eat that yummy sweet potato dish you made?? That looked sooooooooooo good!
@amy_rene
@amy_rene 8 жыл бұрын
+ZanyProductionz Thanks! If you have candida really this most likely means you have a dysbiosis in the gut that can involve the wrong bacteria and yeasts (like candida albicans). Gut healing diets like GAPS exclude processed sugars and starches like sweet potato which can feed candida and bad bacteria if your digestion isn't working properly. Having said that, sweet potato (especially with a forkful of sauerkraut!) is also great for feeding and rebuilding the good bacteria (once they are starting to rebalance), so it depends where you're at in your healing process. If you have a good naturopath, it would be good to get their opinion on what you should include and exclude in your diet for now - fingers crossed sweet potato is on the list! In the meantime you might find this podcast on Candida interesting - highly recommend!: chriskresser.com/top-4-mistakes-people-make-when-treating-candida-overgrowth/

woxelOr Eggs were around back then. Not just chicken eggs either... there would have been (just as there are today) reptile eggs, echidna eggs, fish eggs, etc. Basically anything found in a nest that they could scavenge for they would have most certainly consumed :D Regarding Coffee, it is actually the inner seed extracted from the 'Coffee Berry' (sounds kinda funny) and is just called a 'bean' because of its appearance. It is also a rich source of brain stimulating caffeine and antioxidants. I still hate coffee though haha! White Tea's my drink :P

+janitajasmin Ghee is clarified butter meaning the milk is separated from the fat. Some paleo people decided to use ghee because of its high quality fat content, although it is a dairy product. Many people have problems digesting dairy due to the lack of lactase enzyme found in the digestive system (lactase helps to digest lactose - the protein found in milk) Although ghee does not contain lactose because it is removed in the process. This is why many people choose to use ghee instead of butter.

Morgan jeffries I can't go vegan for various health reasons including the fact I'm hypoglycemic, so :/ paleo is my next best bet bc I live in a house where meat is eaten everyday so my only choice I really can have rn is paleo bc we can't afford organics, we can only afford what's on sale, and I'm lucky enough to at least get three hot meals a day.
@SpaceRobot05
@SpaceRobot05 7 жыл бұрын
+Pocket Sasaki If I couldn't afford organic and grass-fed meats, I would use meat very sparingly or not at all. Conventional meats generally come from unhealthy animals (which is why it's cheaper) and that isn't healthy for us, either. If you can figure organic cage-free or, better yet, pastured eggs into your budget, I'd use those in place of meat. You could also try exploring any local farmer's markets near you as farmers often sell their animal products there, sometimes cheaper than a grocery store. Also, organic organ meats are often much cheaper than muscle meats. A lot of people don't care for the flavor/texture, but I enjoy them and they are very nutritious. Another trick is to adjust the food budget, see if there's anything unnecessary or less nutritious that you can cut out, and spend that money on healthier grass-fed foods. You might also try googling something like "paleo on a budget," there's a lot of great advice out there! Sorry for the long comment, but I hope it gives you some ideas! :)

If you can't afford quality meat, try to at least stay away from processed meats like sausages, burgers... and stick to unprocessed meat. If you want ground meat, ask the butcher to grind it for you - this way you're avoiding fishy, uneccesary stuff being put on it. Organic organ meats is also a good choice, as organ meats tend to be much cheaper, and they're super nutritious.

okay not here to hate but my fitness is more far more higher than an average persons. i was born in Greece so my diet has always been a high fat from olives, nuts, seeds and meats and high carb from fruits, breads and potatoes. Ive actually cut out dairy for allergy reasons and I've cut out meat because it helped me recover far more quicker. Ive actually did try paleo and it constantly made me feel empty and i was burning muscle off. Now before you say I didn't eat enough fats lol trust me i was. So now I'm high carb and i like to have like 30% of fats. It works for me and my blood test are great with 5000 calories a day.
