I cant wait to hear the full official soundtrack. Hans Zimmer us having a good year, specially that we can finally have the chance to hear "007: No time to die" and "Top Gun: Maverick"

Dune looks like it's going to be such a sick movie. It gives me Maze Runner: Scorch Trial vibes, but now this new film has Hans on the tunes.

🤣 Those Minor Motifs that you played have been in EVERY HZ SCORE I can recall -- going as far back as PAPERHOUSE, BLACK RAIN, TWISTER, RAIN MAN, BACKDRAFT ... then the DARK NIGHT Trilogy, INCEPTION, MAN OF STEEL, yada yada yada... the ONLY things that SEEM to change are the SOUND DESIGN and ORCHESTRATION (all of which are PHENOMENAL, btw - so I'm not Complaining), but filling TOTO's SHOES is going 2b a HUGE UNDERTAKING because THAT Score was SO AHEAD OF ITS TIME and SO BELOVED of its Core Fans that it's going 2b INTERESTING to see if THIS new score is going 2b more than a digital RE-TREAD of his GLADIATOR Score. I LOVE Zimmer's work; he's one of my favorite composers, so Here's to HOPING something TRULY New & Exciting is waiting for us 😎👍

The more boring name for it is the tritone: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tritone It was specifically avoided for a long time during medieval times because of its inherent dissonance and disturbing sound (doubt the church burned composers that wrote music with it tho, at least less known ones). Still, I used to play a tune with a band of two sets of these tritones on my synth starting the song in a disturbing way...until the bass and lead guitar came in and resolved it pleasantly to calm people down. This is also often its most notable use in music - it's a great way to get people's attention via a musical dissonance not often heard in a world of people wanting things to sound just pleasant and orderly. Hence why so many people take note of it being sung at full throttle in the Dune trailer at the beginning and end.
