Black community can't stay strong, for it doesn't exist, black /white,is a color,an adjective, you won't say yellow people stay strong would you? No that would be ridiculous, and another thing since you all are so proud of your African heritage,(nothing wrong with that) but what tribe or country you're from in the continent of Africa /Ethiopia /south Asia you're from? That's like saying I'm for Asia,ok,which part?get it?No alright then, stay black and pround and say it loud.If you can't locate your heritage in Africa it means your heritage is here in the Americas, but you and other (Moors in Denial)fantasize about Africa all day long, again nothing wrong in knowing about your/our brother and sisters from the East, but you should know your true identity, nationality and birthrights, know thyself, peace.

I first want to say, sir, that I am a big fan of your videos, and I appreciate your efforts to keep us informed of our history as a people. I find it interesting that, in all my years of schooling, these details were never discussed in our "Western civilization" curriculum. There was always, however, plenty of talk about the respectful rivalry between Saladin and Richard the Lionheart during their battles. I had no idea that Saladin had given churches to the Ethiopians during his conquest of the Holy Lands. The current consensus of history (or its teaching, rather) tries to make it seem like the three Abrahamic faiths were always at war with each other when well before the Crusades, they lived pretty harmoniously. This was especially so before Queen Isabella and King Ferdinand rose to power in Spain. There had been a great deal of knowledge-sharing amongst those communities.

The most celebrated muslim commander was Khalid ibn Walid aka the unsheathed sword of God, a companion of the prophet Muhammad (pbuh) who defeated the Roman and the Persian empires simultaneously. He and Genghis Khan are the only 2 ppl in history who were never defeated in battle. Khalid ibn Walid never lost a battle before islam and after he became muslim. Rahimahullah.

@Reina Camp The crusaders and popes goal was to take the holy land in Jerusalem. Crusaders travelled thousands of miles across the the Balkans Anatolia and the levant facing numerous issues but the end the goal of retaking Jerusalem was achieved by the Europeans. This was during the supposed “dark ages of Europe”. for the crusaders to achieve their conquest and rule, Europeans established advanced navies, and siege weaponry allowing the Europeans to maintain a presence in the levant for 2 centuries up until the late 1200s. Keep in mind at this time Arabs were no longer a threat to the Byzantine empire or any Europeans. The main threat was the new arrivals from the Far East (the Seljuk Turks) as Turkic dynasties from the Far East essentially conquered the Middle East. In contrast this isn’t the case for Europeans.

@Donald Sawyer Wait hold on, Western European school focus mainly on Western European historic events😱😱 the outrage Each education system has to teach their own history. Do you think places like China, the USA and Brazil will be taught about the 1821 Greek revolution? Greeks are taught about it as that event in history is the reason for the establishment of what is today Greece but to nations like Britain Spain japan it’s far less relevant. if a teacher said today guy we will be learning about the Ghana empire. How exactly has the Ghana empire influenced my life personally we wasn’t taught about the Byzantine empire and Byzantine influence is immense and far more important to western civilization

Highly unlikely that Oranmiyan was in Bini at the 12th century, such dating is not consistent with the dating of Oyo and Ife for Oranmiyan which is about 100 years later than Saladin and more consistent with the dating of the bronze heads made during the reign of Oranmiyan's cousin and rival Obalufon II. Also the Ekalederhan -ife connection holds serious loopholes that don't fit into the general history of both Edo and Yoruba speaking peoples

The presentation about Ethiopia is incorrect. Ethiopia was already christian from the fifth century, based upon the Amhara highlands. There were also three nubian christian kingdoms, that fought the initial arab incursion so hard that a peace was agreed upon that lasted for centuries. It was only after some six to eight centuries of isolation that they gradually collapsed, the last one in the 15th century Ethiopia was on the point of collapsing too, until a portuguese force with cannons defeated the muslim somali attackers.

No. The predecessor of Oyo was the Kingdom of Ife. The first Alaafin (King) of the Oyo Empire was Oranyan (Oranmiyan). A semi-mythical origin of him and the empire is that he was the younger of the last two princes of Ife. They were the sons of Oduduwa (The first Ooni of Ife). Both brothers, Oranyan and Orangun launched a punitive raid north of Ife in retaliation to an insult towards their late father. Oranyan's force was too small to make any significant gains so he retreated south and founded a new Kingdom (Oyo). This is a somewhat mythical origin of the Oyo Empire and figures like Oduduwa and Oranyan's son Sango were deified after their deaths. Infact another origin story states that Oduduwa was a prince from the Benin Kingdom to the South East of Yorubaland. Actual confirmed history is that he was definitely the first Alaafin and was succeeded by his son Ajaka who was weak and was in turn deposed by his much stringer and more capable younger brother Sango. If you know a George R.R Martin's work A Song of Ice and Fire then: Oranyan = Aegon the Conqueror Ajaka = Aenys Sango = Maegor the Cruel

Notes: - Salahudin (ra) did not enter Egypt to establish any power. Rather his uncle and father where invited over by the Fatimid ruler, who was seeking help and protection against european crusaders. Once Salahudin as described in his bio did not want to go to Egypt for he longed to be a scholar and did not want to die going to Egypt, due to the circumstances. Salahudin was appointed by the Fatimid Emir as the head of police to fight criminality and due to his succes attained popularity amongst the masses. Upon the death of the Shia (islamic sect) Fatimid ruler, Salahudin attained power in the land. The background of (Sudanese) Mamluk opposition as described in the video might be explained due to sectarianism. As stated in the video the allegiance was returned to the sunni central government in Baghdad, whereas the former Fatimid regime in Egypt was Shi'a. Another reason could be because the loyalty of the Mamluks is to the one who freed them. Mamluks in general, as mentioned in the video, where mostly etnic Turks, yet Mamluks where not slaves, rather they where freed slaves and by condition of the transaction (of liberation) that the loyalty is reffered to the one who set them free. So the Sudanese Mamluk opposition might just aswell have arisen from the loyalty to Fatimid elites. - from an Islamic perspective it is not interesting, as you formulated it, that Salahudin referred the churches in the Holy Land to the Abbesinian Copts (Christians). For the reality of co-existence between Muslims and people of other faiths was never the issue, from an Islamic perspective atleast. Lands opened by Muslims to the authority of Islam (governance) was never to force upon people the creedal beliefs of Islam, as such the Copts of Egypt where allowed to maintain their religious freedom, likewise the Armenians or Assyrian peoples of Iraq to name some amongst many others like the Zoroastrian Kurds etc. The expuslion of european christians was due to the crusades and the absolute massacres they commited during their occupation. Palestine had been occupied for decades and when the european crusaders took Jerusalem the blood was running up until their knees. What is interesting is that Salahudin gave the europeans save passage to retreat, but it is not interesting as you phrased it, that Salahudin gave the Churches to the Coptic Christians. For Islam even when conquering does not allow the destruction or illicit possession of places of worship. These sites belonged to Christians, so the ownership and responsibility over property was returned to them. You could also raise the question whether or not these churches and monestaries where even build by the european crusaders and weren't allready established before their occupation. Because Ash-Shaam (the region of Palestine, Jordan, Lebanon and Syria) has always had a Christian population under Islamic rule and Christianity had been established long before the europeans embraced the faith or took the crusades upon themselves. So agian, it is not interesting the property was returned to Christians, Islam allows people their faith and property.

@spider879 Indeed. I do not agree with neither the afrocentric nor eurocentric depiction of the North African Moors, as we are a distinct ethnic group of our own. We are not heterogeneous, as some of us is white, others are black, and the vast majority are either brown or have olive skin. North Africa has always been like this since humans first migrated out of Africa and then back to it.

Marc Batista The moors were originally Berbers, and moor came to mean black. The Mediterranean is a sea. Black Africans have always inhabited the region of North Africa until the Greco Romans came along so the black Africans mingled with the Greco Romans and eventually became assimilated into the culture
