5:48 on the outdoor antenna, the front reflector (screwed onto feedhorn with 1 screw) should be turned 90 degrees from what you are using.. So the feedhorn vertical strips are like the vertical strips of the back reflector.

Hey Hak5! You should do a video on flashing a home router with custom made firmware to make it the most secure router for personal use! Also if you wouldn't mind reviewing companies like flashrouters; I think people might find it useful! :)

And if you have physical access to the wireless access point (which typically has security information printed on it and/or has a pushbutton for Wi-Fi Protected Setup), you don't need any special tools.

I put kali on my nexus 5 device and am able to put it into monitor mode. Also use an app called hijacker with a gui, make everything more simple

My friend uses this nice trick. He set the wifi router to stop broadcasting the ssid. To connect a new device, you simply enter the ssid and the password. Another thing you can do is use the Mac address filter setting and only allow certain Mac addresses to connect to your router.

Dude...dunno where you live but on this planet ANY MAC address can be spoofed. And hiding your SSID won't help you either. There are many ways to reveal it. You should use WPA3 and a VERY long password (and deactivate WPS).

Anything communicating with the hidden SSID network reveals the name. It will take kismet only minutes to reveal the name. Since you can also see what mac addresses are connecting to the network you can spoof your device's mac address to the one that the network is expecting. It's actually not a bad thing to enable but if somebody is trying to crack your wifi password then odds are they will know how to spoof WiFi as well The best thing to do is enable client isolation on the Wi-Fi so one connected device can't see the other devices and make the router configuration page only accessible via the wired LAN.

My favorite Wi-Fi Hacking tool: The Alfa AWUS036H USB adapter, no doubt about it! :P Of course after that there is Kali-Linux, the Aircrack suite, Reaver, Hashcat, etc...

you might be too far from the original signal. If you get an external antenna and use a USB wireless you can extend your range quite a bit. The stronger the signal the better the chance of pulling the pin.
