There is a difference for the other games. They don’t need ncaa license or fifa licence to make the games because the teams are independent. So they can make deals with the teams rather than the league as a whole. To my knowledge, this cannot be done with nfl teams

Can't do that because Madden 2024 was the 35th game. They skipped Madden 14 and called it 25 so what's ten years later? Madden 24. Madden 2025 would be the 36th game.

FIFA and EA I don’t believe came to a contract agreement so they opted out of the name. I’ve heard that’s the reason for FC24 not being called FIFA 24. I’m not sure how true it is. But believe it could be since Brazil is not in the International teams list

But there are actual reasons for the changes in the other games names. They no longer have the FIFA license. And College Football 25 is because the NCAA no longer is able to force college athletes to keep their amateur status to be able to play.

I never understood why they chose Madden of all the coaches to base a game franchise on. Shula, Johnson, Shanahan, Walsh, the list goes on, of multiple Superbowl winning coaches. Coaches that were obviously better and more accomplished than Madden was. Yet they pick an obscure coach that manage to win one time 30+ years before the game existed. Does anyone know why Madden was declared the be all/end all in everything football related?
