And what tells you this people? Right! Coomunication is the Key. If we all can communicte together, the World would be a more Peacefull place. I myself thinking about learning at least 2-3 languages beside my Native one (german) and English. Just to be able to communicate more and better. Things really change, even if you only know the Basics or "how to survive" :D

That's honestly why I think technology is so amazing now, I don't think it would be like this in Japan since people don't often go up and speak to but - I'm in the US, and one time a man from Afghanistan came and spoke to me, and we use Google translate the whole time to talk. It was a little difficult to communicate, but we were able to have an actual conversation. It was me getting to learn about each other's cultural differences, and how we were raised. He spoke to me because he wanted to learn English. I was able to teach him what a thumbs-up / the word good+ cool meant so that was neat! Never saw him again but it was definitely a cool experience.

I remember living in Japan, there were some people who were curious and would come talk to you, then there were others who wouldn’t even stand next to you on a train platform. At first I got mad, but then I realized it really wasn’t their fault. It’s just a closed culture. That and most foreigners in Japan act like idiots.

Countries that don't teach another langauge then the spoken native language, are setting the students back. My country Denmark, we learn 3 languages before we finish school. Our own language Danish, then we have German and English. Most of the Danish people speak those 3 languages before starting highschool. To be able to speak JUST ONE language is a wordly handicap.
