I think honestly if sengoku wasn’t fast enough garp would have killed him. Now you can say he has his devil fruit but you have to realize that garp is a mast of haki and he can imbue his haki on his body which will connect Akainu and in turn either beat him close to death or in fact kill him.

Since roger fought garp and almost killed each other im 50 percent sure that garp could have killed akainu but sengoku stopped him

Garp is 100% dogging on akainu or at least Sen goku is going to let akainu get slapped around a bit before stopping garp eventually

In my opinion, if garp blitzed akainu, he would have killed him and just stood there. Feels like he was hurting too much and has too much of a sense of justice to fight anyone else after that. He just wanted to kill akainu cuz he killed ace and felt ashamed he didn't stop it.

We are talking about a Marine who was at a level that even Whitebeard wasn't able to achieve, he was one of the few people capable of standing toe to toe with Roger, not being dwarfed by him like Whitebeard was. If you dont believe me, Roger and Garp were the only two people strong enough to defeat Xebec. Also hes one of those characters that while being more lax at an older age, he in turn becomes stronger.

Garp would probably try to join the Revolutionary Army with his son assuming he killed Akainu and escaped. If that happened, God help the fucking marines. At that point, they would have to whip out the Gorosei and Imu. Garp was moments away from changing the world.

Garp would've wrecked his shit but Akainu would've still survived. Like Whitebeard, Garp is easily stronger than Akainu but Akainu is strong and crafty enough to take a beating and survive long enough for someone else to intervene.

Then Garp would be dead or locked up in impel down. He wouldn’t get away with trying to kill or killing an admiral. No matter how strong you think garp is he is not one shotting an admiral. They would have a fight and even sengoku would have helped take garp down. This would not have ended in garps favor no matter what.

Long story short: akainu dies

He would have single punched kizaru, 2 sengoku, 3 to alkiji and may be 4 to akainu. He would have destroyed not only marineford but every marine who stood against him, if he wasn't stopped and wasn't willing to stop. If sick old white man was strong enough to do so much damage to akainu. What potential damage could have garp caused! Definitely more than the damage combinly caused by every marine and every pirate combined. Unless oda is lying about garp.

tbh... unless we see more akainu would have beaten garp ...and I love garp but he is old and we have not seen his strength, and I bet he has not seen his own strength in years.. garp is stronger than akainu but garp was angry so just like katakuri was angry & that allowed luffy to finally hit him & hurt him badly, garp would have gotten easily hit by akainu cus garps's his observation haki works when he is calm just like every1 elses. Getting hit by lava is death if your anger prevents u from using observation haki to know where on your body to put armament haki on to block the lava. Luffy being able to hit katakuri taught us how important being calm is for observation haki. So Sengoku actually saved garp from dying. When top tier fighters fight, there is o room for mistakes or distractions cus they will lose their life even if their stronger. Even the regular marine at 0:20 of video kzfaq.info/get/bejne/aNSeqNl5ubiom2g.html had the emotion sensing enough on garp to sense garpes anger & he wondered wtf garp was doing long before garp got closer to akainu. There isn’t a way in hell old garp was beating akainu. Y’all reading the wrong story, one of the main talking points of marineford was the old era is over. Proof is in Blackbeard he is an amazing powerscaler he will only fight if he knows he will win. He was confident he could defeat the current garp and sengoku. But he ran away from shanks and akainu a bit later. So based on that info the manga has given us to me is clear old garp will not be beating the current top tiers. My respect to garp in his younger days the answer is clear but he ain’t young no more
