Emily I’ve thought about what I’d do if I had 12 months to live and I decided I would write a letter to everyone close to me : Fiancé, Parents, Cousins & Friends. Each letter would contain a specific memory that was significant to that person a moment we shared where we laughed until we cried or anything significant about that person that I remember about them . I would write it in a letter and ask them to always remember that time/moment/joke and to live their life. Carry on doing everything your doing, do the things you enjoy and ignore the timeframe - I agree with everyone, who knows how long you have. Everyday is a blessing and tomorrow is a gift promised to no-one xxxxx

@ourcorrectopinions68242 жыл бұрын
I don't understand the "If only she knew" kind of statements... like it would've been better for her to have less hope? How would that be better? It sounds like an "I told you so" after she's gone, knowing the outcome that Emily can't have known. Leaves a bad taste, these perhaps well-intentioned but nonetheless patronising remarks.

There comes a point in all illness where you go from positive working to surviving hopefully with a positive attitude. It’s when your illness makes everyday life hard to the point you can’t enjoy it or do what you need to without it taking so much time and effort. You just go for it at that point and grab what you can.

What would you do with 12 months? Mark Twain said: "Let us live so that when we come to die even the undertaker will be sorry". I only know of one person who achieved that goal: the Edinburgh surgeon (and inspiration for Sherlock Holmes), Dr Joseph Bell. During his life, Bell provided free medical treatment for the man who would later be his undertaker. Result: when he died in 1911, his undertaker really was sorry - no more free medical treatment.

Greens+ mixed with aloe juice every day. Listen to your body and what its telling you, if your tired, rest. Coconut oil mixed with pure aloe gel for your hair and as anti persperant mixed with an essential oil (i put that sh*t on everthing.) keep going.

Holy comments batman! Lots of great feedback from your peeps! I agree with Aisha that you give back by replying and connecting with your subscribers. No better gift than that. If I had 12 months here's what I would do: (Six easy steps) 1. Fly to England, find Emily and say "Holy crap, I only have 12 months, let's get Aisha and go to Nandos." (Thanks for answering my question btw.) 2. Find the funny in the absurd as much as possible - you seem to be pretty good at that:) 3. Find the students I have worked with who touched my life-tell them they are awesome and how glad I am that I got the chance to get to know them. (Yeah, that's sappy I know yada, yada) 4.Rent a lake house for the summer in Incline Village, Lake Tahoe with a boat and wave runners. Invite all family and friends to visit. (Traveled many places in Europe and America and it's still my favorite place to vacay.) 5.Have a big bash, final farewell party while I was still healthy enough to do it. 6.Donate my plush leather couches and 60 inch television to Emily and Aisha upon my passing...because even though I'd only have 12 months- you are going to live another 20 years and could still be using them. Bam!
