These are things that you most likely didn't know about Bermuda Triangle
A hotspot for unexplained disappearances and alleged UFOs, the Bermuda Triangle has been teasing our imagination for decades. With mysterious disappearances of airplanes, ships, and people, the Bermuda Triangle has spawned a host of conspiracy theories and just as many books, movies, and even comic books. But how much do you know about the most mysterious corner of our planet? Hello and welcome to another episode of The Infographics Show- today we're taking a look at 50 shocking facts about the Bermuda Triangle.
50. The Bermuda Triangle extends from Bermuda to Miami and Puerto Rico, and covers 440,000 square miles of ocean.
49. Due to so many unexplained disappearances, it is also known as the Devil's Triangle.
48. Planes or ships lost in the triangle are often not found- scientists believe that this is because the Gulf Stream runs near the triangle and quickly removes the debris from the search area.
47. It's estimated that 1000 lives have been lost in the last 100 years.
46. Despite the apparent danger from alleged sea monsters, aliens, and the ancient city of Atlantis, it’s still one of the premier vacation destinations in the world.
45. Situated within the Triangle is the US Navy's AUTEC facility, which stands for Atlantic Undersea Test and Evaluation Center, located on the Andros island of the Bahamas. The Navy uses the facility to test submarines, sonar, and other weapons- but many believe they have a part to play in the Triangle's disappearances or are investigating the true sources.

The Infographics Show do your due diligence and learn something about nautical terms.... 7.2 tons is tiny.. like a 25 foot sail boat on a large lake. 7,200 tons... that’s a ship, classed to cross oceans.

I’ve lived in Miami my whole life, I’ve always actively fished offshore deep into the triangle, tons of magnetic anomalies and interference exist out there. I’ve also encountered many unexplainable aircrafts/lights that moved in ways that humans cannot handle physically. My father fished the triangle, he’s a very serious man, and he tells a story of one night being out there with friends on a 35ft open fisherman, with the anchor down and hanging in super deep water, something snagged the anchor and dragged them for about 100 yards before breaking the anchor mount loose off the boat, he says it was starting to dive when the mount broke, he says it was a massively strong force.

The Cyclops was one of eighteen ships built to the same specifications. They all proved to be less than ideal. One theory was that they had a predilection for their plates basically breaking apart towards the aft areas. Another is that the search for Cyclops was way off target as the ship wasn't able to reach the supposed point of disappearance owing to an ongoing engine problem.

Who wrote this? Within the first minute, I already caught some very weird phrasings: 0:19 "but how much do you know about the most mysterious CORNER of our planet?" - do spheres have corners? Flat earthers need not respond. 0:46 "planes or ships lost in the triangle are often not found" - if they were found, they wouldn't be lost!

Now, I do remember once upon a time that I was told about an ancient city that was sunken in a storm, perhaps this could explain the mysterious stone structures, as well, there's a storm on Jupiter that has gone on for whoever knows how long, so what's not saying that the Bermuda Triangle isn't the same

The Cuban underwater structures are not anywhere near the Bermuda triangle, but that's a super intriguing subject that I'd love to see covered in a video of its own! A few things to note there is that the area where they were found is near the westernmost tip of Cuba, which isn't very far away from Yucatan, where the Maya dwelled. Their myths may be worth looking into. Western Cuba (Pinar del Rio) was also the only known location of a mysterious group of natives called the Guanahatabey. We know next to nothing about them, only that they were a completely separate group of natives. Again, I'd love to see a video on these underwater structures!

I'm not sure about the planes, but I remember seeing something about rouge waves being common in the Bermuda Triangle. This could explain, at least in part, the disappearance of so many ships. When a 50+ foot wave appears out of nowhere it can be difficult to get a distress signal off in time.

The average amount of deaths in 1 year from falling down stairs is more than the amount of deaths in the Bermuda Triangle in 100 years. (Stair deaths are ~12,000 per year and Bermuda Triangle deaths are ~1,000 in the last century)

I get that it can mostly be explained by science. But why no distress calls even from the most advanced planes and ship? And no wreckage ever found despite the fact that the area is heavily trafficked. I don't know man.
@storyspren
@storyspren 5 жыл бұрын
The ocean is huge. A plane or ship is nothing compared to it. Not only is 300,000 square miles an area larger than most countries, the Gulf Stream might carry them away further increasing the search area. On top of that, it's more like a search volume since some bits float, others sink, some might hang around above the seafloor for quite a long while. As for the lack of distress calls, devices not working seems to be common in these cases. As to what causes that, it could be a lot of things and I don't know enough about electronics to suggest anything, but communication loss isn't exclusive to the Bermuda Triangle.

My Dad was THERE during the flight 19 incident ! He was in the second PBY search plane and knew Capt. Taylor. A recently discovered WWII ship's log noted a formation of bombers crossing the coastline at Flagler Beach, FL heading SSW at about the time they were running out of fuel. My Dad always believed they went down in the Everglades and that heading would have brought them there. In the 1980s, the Everglades dried up and had fires which exposed some Navy planes in the Everglades not far from where I lived, in an area that was reclaimed from the Everglades. No one realized that these planes could have been flight 19, and the high water level returned without anyone getting the tail numbers. I can say that my wife and previous owner believed our house was haunted by spirits.....I think they may have been people my Dad knew reaching out from the other side....Navy fliers.

Taylor wasn't over the Keys, he was actually over the Abaco islands east of Grand Bahama, which he mistook for the Keys, so he would not have been anywhere near the Everglades.
