Hey Robert, awesome video! Just started my own locksmith business and took some info from your video for some purchases. Keep up the good work! Only thing I would add would be a pair of safety glasses right next to your key machines! Had some key shavings hit the corner of my eye the other day, now a pair of glasses are sitting next to all my machines.

Thank you for this video! I worked at Lowe’s for a few months in hardware, I learned a lot about locks and keys and it’s just a fascinating line of work to me and I’m wanting to make a career out of it. I absolutely loved copying keys and rekeying house locks and I only want to learn more. I’m going to start online school for it and attempt to get a job at a local locksmith until I’m comfortable enough to start my own business. Thank you again for this video!

Im here in AZ and have been a Success Manager for almost 10 years, helping businesses make billions (literally) on my advice alone but I cant stand it. 12 hours a day behind a computer screen is no way to live for someone that is a tinkerer at heart. The difficulty is giving this life up to do something I love but at 1/3rd the pay. Id be willing to make that sacrifice at this point.

Is being a locksmith even a viable career with iot? A live in an apartment and the lock is 100% through an app or code. A lot of apartments are getting rid keyes completely. Aren't cars also becoming keyless? Are key based locks going the way of the floppy drive?
