The button straps are referring to are so you can roll the back window up without taking it out of the truck

Thank you for the informative instructions, easy, detailed, and logical. I just leave my ragtop on all year. It's fine in the winter. As for insulation, that's what the AC is for right. Cheers!

Does the same hardware go from hard to soft top or is it a whole different set of screws?

Same hardware along the back. 4 bolts for the top frame are different. If you have aftermarket thumb wheel style bolts for your hardtop along the back they won't work with the soft top.

Close enough. It sits out all winter so I rather the hard top go through the additional wear and tear of snow, wind, ice. Also I assume the hardtop insulates better than the soft top.
