Diamonds From Sierra Leone was a good song and he highlighted some very real issues going on. was able to make a connection between problems in the hood and in some remote parts of Africa. Brought attention to global socio-economic issues. But Jay Z jumped on the track and showed how to be very clever and lyrical while also spreading a message. The most memorable line from that song was "IM NOT A BUSINESSMAN IM A BUSINESS MAN!" and that wasnt said by YE.

I dont think you were listening. At the 48 min mark we literally said "Meg is up 1 - 0" but we all did agree Nicki's song was entertaining. And it was! Its a terrible diss track (also something I said verbatim) but it was funny. Making ppl laugh wont win a rap battle but it will make the song memorable.
@KennEdwinTV5 ай бұрын
Darnell is trippin. Mos Def raps better than Drake. We can fight over this too. Drake doesn’t have what Mos Def has… which is respect from real MC’s… Mos Def is an MC. Rapping is only a piece of the puzzle. Drake doesn’t have a hip hop song like “Respiration.” Drake doesn’t have a better story telling song than “Ms. Fat Booty.” He doesn’t have a soulful song like “Umi Says.” Which was Mos Def’s point of mentioning skuu’s.

@SmartWorldMedia1Ай бұрын
Darnell disappointed on the Drake argument. He is definitely top 5 rapper! Y’all let Pop infect y’all rap opinion, too focused on Drakes more commercial music. Drake on a song with anybody isn’t just getting smoked (pause). He and Kanye aren’t close in terms of rap ability. A couple songs that highlights his rap skill “The Remorse, Do not disturb, and any of his time stamp songs.

Cmon this isnt East Coast bias Kanye isnt an exceptional rapper. He's a producer who can rap. Kanye's lyrics arent anywhere near the top lyricist in rap, you dont mention him with Jada, Andre 3K, Jay, Nas, Scarface, Biggie, Kendrick, Cole, etc etc the list goes on. He's not with them. His is however a good songmaker. Nobody runs to 808 & Heartbreak for bars though. Or to many of his other projects.

Why is everyone saying Nicki song is bad? I’m so confused 😂 l thought she killed it. Witty lines and good metaphors. I know mad people who hate “big foot” shit is so weird. I can see the new kids not liking but y’all come from that era of rap. Hiss is not better song than big foot.

Meek is NOT a better rapper than Drake LYRICALLY either.. I dont know what yall are talking about.. Meek does not have a Lord KNows.. Meek does not have 5am in Toronto.. Meek dont have 7am on Bridle Path EITHER.. EVERY Drake song with a timestamp is lyrically technically rapped better than ANY VERSE Meek has ever uttered. Im not even a Drake fan like that and I KNOW that for sure.
@ammar_jamal5 ай бұрын
Respect, but you can play that game "This rapper doesnt have what that rapper has" with basically EVERY rapper. Drake does not have a "Tony's Story" he's not the type of rapper that does story-telling rap. He doesnt have a Dreams & Nightmares (but very few rappers do) that will have every single person from every corner of a stadium stand up and rap it word for word, doesnt matter where theyre from. That song evokes a feeling out of ppl. Drake's song dont tend to move ppl in that way. I dont know that in general Drake raps from a place thats so personal that whether you can relate to what he's saying or not you understand his hunger and desperation. Meek does that often. You dont have to be from Philly to understand how his hood is effected and how it effects him. Drake has never made me care about Toronto, respectfully. So in that Meek may very well be a better rapper but I respect your opinion.
@Christian9TNAT35 ай бұрын
@ammar_jamal No no, I FULLY AGREE WITH YOU. You pretty much perfectly and eloquently summed up the entire appeal of Meek Mill as an artist. Meek is a tremendous storyteller, honestly not too far off from Pac or Scarface (who I consider to be the GOAT of that type of rap) in that regard. I think the way I'm interpreting LYRICAL might be different.. I know the literal definition of lyrical is closer to what you're talkin bout. I mean lyrical in terms of technical rap skill, the metaphors, delivery, wordplay, cleverly placed witty entendres and sneak jabs that niggas catch, at first if you really listen to that kind of rap and after additional listens for others. Drake is actually far above average lyrically, specifically in THAT regard (Hov is the GOAT of that type of rap).. That shit basically don't pay his bills.. That's why he be on the R&B Pop BS he on, constantly in tune with what young nigga wave is, no matter his wack that shit sound to niggas our age.
@ammar_jamal5 ай бұрын
@@Christian9TNAT3 i agree with you in that Drake isn't getting credited with how skilled he is because he's chosen to make commercially acceptable & successful hip hop. Hence Mos Def saying you hear him when you're in Target. All three of them can really rap though.
