Lol I know! Just cuz you like someone doesn't mean you necessarily like what they like. I liked Sebastian because I thought he was cute and I felt like he had stuff going on that I understood. I thought he was smart and I like that he was still struggling to figure out what he wanted to be and do with his life.

Now, hear me out: She's extremely rude when you first meet her, to the point she doesn't deserve a single gift in the first place! So you shouldn't ever reach the point when she develops, since it's kinda lame to give any gifts to someone who dragged you in your first conversation. Shane can get a pass because dude's depressed af, but Haley has literally no reason to be that rude to strangers.

But to be fair, a ton of the charas are complete asshats at first too, or at least cold and distant, and rude. The more ya get to know her the less entitled and bratty she becomes, and i just love seeing character growth no matter how small tbh. Her from the beginning not liking literally everything i give her then when you become friends she becomes less self absorbed and starts donating to charity, etc etc Its fine if you dont like her, since first impresions do last a long time, I just wanted to throw my cents in and see why everyone hates her so bad .

I agree. In all honesty the reason I chose Alex ingame was because his relationship with his grandparents reminded me of something in my life, which made him relatable. I actively avoid Shane and Harvey for the same reason.

Funny thing is, I have a file for that. Basically I had to do Joja route if I wanted to complete the game, so I just kinda decided I'd do a run where I was a total jerk who dated literally everyone at the same time while also allowing joja to get it's filthy fingers on everything.

You don't even "fix" him: his arc revolves around him accepting he has a problem and starting to tackle his issues, on his own: all we see in the game (which can be infered to take place withing a couple of years in-universe) is him starting his healing process, the game never tries to justify his alcoholism and depression by showing you what started it, that's not something that regards you (the player), even if you are a couple: you're not even required to date him to have the events that lead him to start this process, just being there as a friend is all that's needed to help him overcome this period of his life; I think all that was left to make his arc better was him mentioning wanting to go to therapy sometime in the future: I honestly think the game handled shane's mental struggle really well for what it is. TL;DR: The game never makes you "fix" Shane, nor does it pretend that's what happens: Shane starts to solve his issues on his own, and what you do is offer emotional support, but no more.

Yeah he doesn't get "fixed" in the game anyway. He still has bad days. I choose him because he's the only adult that doesn't have shitty hair decisions (Fabio hair or nasty moustache are your only other adult-seeming choices, everyone else reads as a teenager).

There's always more to the characters imo. Like how Shane just needs help, and how a lot of the characters need time to open up. And Haley is a sweetheart when married
