If you are designing a 7 seater then make the 3 seats in the second row all the same size - like they used to be in Peugeot 5008 MPV

Well Peugeot did not put it in the info pckage and they all simply say what the producer wrote down. They never ask uestions because they want to be invited to these fancy locations 😂😂😂 You can fairly assume that small batteries under 50-60kWh are usually now LFP since that is cheaper , all above is usually NMC because the LFP needs more space and thus you cannot pack large packs. So yeah, you are totally right. And Stellantis does not run 800V yet, to my knowledge.

For an EV, I mostly care about 2 things besides the range and the charging speed: - One pedal drive or not - LFP battery or not (so that I can charge the car to 100% on a daily base) Too bad that this video didn't cover these two items so I need to look them up myself via other sources.

The only problem compared to the EV9 is that the big battery in this car won't be on sale this year and the EV9 is already on the road. So it's a bit odd to compare the price and real-world range of the Kia with the theoretical claims for this Peugeot.
@ferrariforever1

The wltp range of both cars should be obtained using the exact same methodology, right? Then it doesn't matter whether a car has been on sale or not.
@Dqtube
@Dqtube 9 күн бұрын
@@ferrariforever1 No, WLTP test conditions can vary because there is no one central authority responsible for verifying these tests (such as the EPA in the US). Therefore, some car makers are cherry-picking a car configuration for the test that will not be on sale in all markets, or it will be a time-limited offer for only the initial few months of sales. So a majority of potential customers will not be able to buy it. In the case of this car, Peugeot is trying to sell that it will have the same consumption (15-16 kWh/100 km, a figure from independent tests) as their e3008, which is a smaller, lighter and more aerodynamic car.

This boot has never 916 litres of storage (03:30) , unless maybe counted all the way to the roof. WhatCar's boot size measurements are so annoying, so much so that I don't believe any number you state. They are also very difficult to compare. For some cars you guys take the official numbers, some cars you mention numbers until the parcel shelf, sometimes until the roof etc. Just FYI, the Peugeot homepage states "259 litres with 3rd row up and 740 litres with rear seats folded" vs your claim of 348 and 916.

The e-5008 100kwh FWD basically has only one 7 seater EV competitor at the moment: the Kia EV9 RWD. 60k vs 67k euro 100 kWh vs 100 kWh 660km wltp vs 563km 2300kg vs 2501kg 4,79m length vs 5,01m No one pedal drive vs one pedal drive no LFP battery vs no LFP battery Feature wise and space wise I think the EV9 is a better deal, but the e-5008 has a significantly larger wltp range. The WLTP range of this car is nonsense. A car of this shape and weight will be really happy if it consumes 17-18 kWh/100 km in good weather. The much smaller 3008 with a small battery(73kWh) is 15-16 kWh/100km with two people on board.

Massive mistake by peugeot, i personally know 7 owners in our area, and all (including me) bought this because of the three isofix's and separate seats (as well as being relqtiveoy cheap and nicely kitted out), it was the key difference from rivals such as the kodiaq. I went to look at a santa fe today, and said no thankyou because of the middle seat. And now i see peugeot has moved away from this option. Everyone has moved on to these non off-road SUVs and crossover-SUVs. It seems to be because they like the design, higher driving position and ground clearance. Now I know it’s confusing but the term SUV is a very loose one. Nowadays it mostly refers to road going cars with elements from off-road cars.
