Excellent choice for a thumbnail. For those who don’t get why I hate the sequels Finn and Phasma are a great pair to start. Finn should’ve been and was originally marketed to be this Stormtrooper turned Jedi! Instead we got a guy who shouts “ReEeEEeYyYyYyY!” And Phasma who has one of the coolest looking trooper suits we’ve seen in the series, just ended up being a character that just always went out like a chump and was victim of bad puns and jokes.

One thing that linked Mace and Grievous was in the original Clone Wars cartoon, Mace force crushed Grievous’ chest. This is why he coughs and wheezes all throughout Episode 3.

The way they did John Boyega and Finn was so dirty. That bait and switch the original TFA trailers did will never not disappoint me. Then JJ had to throw in that Finn was custodial as a joke...just bad. Then Rian reduced him to a useless fetch quest...and jj ended him with an even more useless role in rise.

I'm almost positive that Finn is Force Sensitive, but until that's proven one way or another, it's just a fan theory.

Qui-Gon Jinn should've gotten more of the spotlight as well.

I'm surprised you didn't put Rose Tico on there, Rose Tico was a character from The Last Jedi and she never return in The Rise Of Skywalker.

Zam wesell was another character that was underutilized.

Finn disereved better. He was an excellent concept. He was acted fantiastically. And went a very little way.

Love me some Biggs, my favorite character from the OT, ever since I first saw him in the coffee table-sized picture book from '78. Wedge Antilles, from the noble house of Antilles on Alderaan. Though older, he would have been AWESOME in TFA, but Poe is very cool. And has led to some wicked cool cosplay mashups (Edgar Allen Poe Dameron, FTW). I hope Boega and the other actors playing the force-sensitive ex-troopers return for the new New Jedi Order movies.

Jango is a important character because he’s the template for the clone army but he’s also barely a character because he dies in the movie he debuts in

Phasma should be given more time--maybe show how she's more than a silver stormtrooper.

As much as I was irritated by the petulant, race-card slinging child that Boyega became over the whole ordeal, and if we're being honest almost the entire cast of the sequel trilogy merits mention, I absolutely agree with Finns place at the top of this list. While he certainly isn't the only character out of the sequel films that was setup for growth only to have their wings clipped, his prevalence in initial marketing promised way more than we ever got to even glimpse. A Stormtrooper that broke his indoctrination training? Possibly force sensitive? Who cares, we'll turn him into a simp and saddle him with the b-side story for the next two films.

One of the most toxic habbit of nerd-culture is to whine about bitpart characters not getting more screentime. These characters are all here to drive story and nothing good ever some from wanting a story to drive a character. Let the Obi-Wan and Book of Boba Fett farces serve as evidence for not starting att he wrong end of story creation. "Fan service" has destroyed Star Wars, but it is too much to ask nerds to stop nerding, but the mouse house can't help themselves when it comes to chasing money.
