@That boi Jordan Del Rio was *great*. And then he lost his smile. Not talking about anything backstage, they literally stopped booking him to be that obnoxiously content guy loving how he has the best life ever and made him perpetually miserable. From there he just felt low energy and bland whereas he'd jumped off the screen initially with all his posturing after getting out of the fancy car and generally looking excited about life. I've never heard this acknowledged even though at the time I remembered the exact point it shifted. It's foggy now but I think it was after he won the WHC for the first time but had his celebration overshadowed by some babyface's antics. Instead of being on top of the world, he was grouchy about that moment and never ever got over it, even after winning the title again and again. The final nail was the babyface turn.

I personally dislike the I'm from a different country or culture therefore I'm evil gimmick or characters basically the foreign heels.

I didn't particularly like that just because Dustin's Three Stooges level goofiness was just a bit too corny for me but the highlight for that gimmick came from his Howard Stern interview. He'd keep insisting that he did not have Tourette's Syndrome, instead repeating the company line of it being a vague neuroligical disorder (because it's okay as long as they can't specifically identify who you're making fun of!). After not budging on the issue, a fuming caller phones in and angrily declares that "This is disgusting, it's making a mockery - this man does NOT have Tourette's!" And Dustin just quietly says "See?" Probably doesn't translate to half remembered text but I had to tip my bandana to him for keeping it straight while acting like the caller was defending him rather than fiercely denouncing his act.

When that gimmick ended I stopped watching WWE for 12 years.
