Kinda wish they gave them different uniforms styles if they're some random unaffiliated security company to mimic the variety smaller companies have (since they all wear brown and cream uniforms unless they're G6 or MW).

In all fairness these security guards are just civilians, some may not know how to act under such pressure.

In real life they have unarmed and armed security. So it isn’t too far from the truth

@@travismeta3727 i think GTA V, atleast prob in beta they intended the guards to all be affiliated with Gruppe sechs or Merryweather and all classified as "armed security" Prob scrapped that idea and just threw the hats as random props they can wear so it looks like some of them are affiliated by Gruppe sechs but some of them are just generic security or some minor unmentioned security company Them being all armed is just that security always use LOADOUT_SECUR, which forces them to be equipped with a pistol. A mod could fix that by giving them stunguns which is far better, since unlike cops they will never stun-lock you, so they will stun you until the cops arrive at which point they will flee.

yeah because their AI never is told to like/respect the military unlike cops in-fact, funnily enough cops and military have different AI, even tho both of them share the same logic which baffles me as to why R* couldn't just make them cops, but prob it had something to do with population and i guess cops are handled differently in popcycle.dat so they resorted to making a new AI type for military peds so they can populate the army base like civs do in normal areas, they just didn't happen to think what would happen if security peds came into contact with army peds. Not that it matters since i guess you could think of it as this way: Security like cops and vice versa because the security company has an agreement with LSPD to not shoot eachother and have their guards report suspicious activity to the police? Possibly, i mean the wanted system is designed for hiding and stealth, not active combat even tho rampages are funny sometimes. Army/Military don't like security because they never intended to come into contact and if they do, they are treated as hostiles because i suppose they don't know if the guard is affiliated with the other group of hostiles or not better safe than sorry.

It's just a fun bit of trivia that I found out on complete accident because I was trying to drag the military all the way to LS so they could maybe fight gangs but the trip ended a bit short because of that security guard LOL

@@LedYouAshtray Fun fact, due to Army pedtype using the same behavior as cops/swat do, they can fly helicopters without flying off. But unlike swat, they will never rappel down and the dispatch system freaks the fuck out when spawning them as the limits for helicopters don't apply, as normally you would only get 1 helicopter with 3 peds, but with army you get 3 helicopters even tho they all have 3 peds. Sounds like a miscalculation by R*

What's ironic is that one of the quotes from a security guard in GTA IV states that he's with the police but the LCPD will fire at him if he shoots his gun once you do (or aim at him). Security guards in both games make equally little sense anyway.

Prob in the beta version, they we're supposed to be affiliated with the cops or Gruppe sechs played a MUCH larger role and had support with police. Now that's just scrapped content and R* being R*, they didn't alter much of the guard's AI Now i don't condone exploiting but... It's easy to fix i'd say, all a modder has to do is change pedpersonality file and go to the entry that defines the security peds and change the "isSecurity" tag to false and they won't have that behavior again. relationships.dat can also be changed to make cops not like/nor dislike security, just act neutral with them, plus you can create a script that removes all pistols from security peds and now you have them only as unarmed security.

Judging the way I play and look in GTA online, my character is an obvious domestic terrorist and I'd imagine there's a trillion dollar bounty on my head for anyone to take me down. I suspend my disbelief with that in mind

They share the same ped model with different textures and are only used in Online properties as props or enemies in certain business sourcing missions. They’re also used as a prop in some SecuroServ work. At best, you could probably make a YT Short about them.

@@whatever57010I know there’s one that guards the players’ nightclub storage and garage wearing a black uniform. Other ones are primarily at the securoserv warehouses in few of the missions.

So if you unlock the gruppe6 outfits from the casino big con heist, if you go into body armors in your menu and select remove bodyarmor, it’ll take off the “glued” on body armor of the outfit revealing a Gruppe 6 black badge on your shirt and the radio will still be attached to the shirt too. Using that and getting one of the military uniform caps works well to look like the uniformed security for rp purposes.

I think they’re two separate entities but like the Gruppe 6 either rent or bought their electric sedans from merryweather.

​@@whatever57010 yeah the gangs like the russian mob, italian mafia, irish mafia, bikers, Latin Kings, there is also security guards in gta 4. That would be amazing cause they always have some weird schedules sometimes they spawn at night or at day. They will attack other gangs etc.
