As someone who was suic*dal in the past, this song hits me because the pain I go through to get there is horrendous. The exit space is right there but I’m stuck fighting this war inside my head. And honestly, being called selfish and a coward just made me feel worse. I hated it. I have conquered these emotions. It’s not gone, but I can combat it better. The only way I got here is help. A battle like this can’t be fought alone and please, to those who feel like this, realize you can’t do this alone. Reach out somewhere someplace and scream out from the top of your lungs until someone hears your cries for help. It’s not weakness, it’s strength to know you need help

One of the reasons I let go of a lot of people I knew in the past year. It was always me checking in on them and never getting the same courtesy despite them knowing I am struggling massively. 2 or 3 people left in my life know and will ask how I'm doing even though know my answer will never change.

First video I've seen of yours - you're so insightful and your voice is very calming. I very much agree with your statement of using the songs to send to people in order to open dialogue about how you feel - I have actually done that as citizen soldier have a way of explaining everything better than I ever could. I love citizen soldier’s songs because there song are relatable to so many and there songs show that people like me who are a bit broken are not alone in there fight .

I personally am very thankful for Citizen Soldier's music cuz I was in a really dark place for a long time and because of their music I was finally able to feel confident enough to my parents

Just my two cents I don’t think the song is justifying suicide so much as it’s condeming the attitude many have that those who take their lives are selfish or cowards. The reality is they are victims. They’ve gotten to the point where they haven’t gotten the help they need or don’t have the people there to help pull them through and they just want the suffering to stop. It doesn’t make it the right choice, obviously it’s always better if someone can push through or get that help but the point remains that victims of suicide deserve empathy not condemnation and as the lyric points out if people understood the pain that the person was going through they’d be more understanding that it wasn’t cowardice or selfishness. Just someone who could no longer see the light at the end of the tunnel.
