I believe ketchup was introduced to the Philippines during one of the wars, when the Americans left there were no tomatoes so they made it from bananas.

Those mangoes are from Mexico, with thicker skin and has an after taste. Mangoes grown in the Philippines have thinner skin and no after taste at all.

it's popularly said to have originated in World War II, when American soldiers brought tomato ketchup to the Philippines. Since tomatoes were hard to find at the time but bananas were plentiful, Filipino locals adapted it to a banana version.

We grew up in San Diego then retired to Missouri. Yes, it's way cheaper, but there's no Seafood City. I miss that store so much!! Especially the hot bakery, and the hot deli which are absolutely outstanding!

The banana flour is actually the flower that is on the banana tree. The green or raw jackfruit is the one where u can cook it and it is like a meat substitiute. The ripe sweet one you eat it like a fruit just the yellow parts so good!

Hi Benji, just want to say that the picture of the red banana is not the banana blossom. If i'm not mistaken it's what we cal "puso ng saging" or "banana heart". :)

Sweet plantains is considered an everyday snack and very common. Can be cooked into a variety of different things. Not just turon. There is maruya (tagalog name not to be confused with the bisaya maruya), bananacue, ginangang (grilled), fritters (pinaypay because it is shaped like a fan), and boiled.

Taro is added as vegetable for sinigang...to make it soupy and creamy; we do plant melon or cantaloupe, jicama or singkamas both endemic in the Philippines both can be both eaten with Bagoong or shrimp paste just like ripe mangoes...while banana blossoms is added to other dishes that calls for it. Purefoods is the brand we use for Sopas and Pinoy Spaghetti...

Or like the one Benji mentioned "Breaking a $100" while cashiers is ringing you up. LOL 🤦🏾‍♀️😂😂 Like dude can we pay attention to one thing? 😒😂😂 Or you got the cashiers on the phone talking with someone while ringing you're shite up. 😂😂 It's so Interesting when you're at these Markets! 😂😂 But i Love it! 😁😂❤
