Today we take a look inside the well regarded Fiio FH3 Iem.
I found this little Gem on ebay for $15, funnily enough the seller listed both units seperately. lol

Sub bass on this is one of best, midrange is really good, non sibilant to me overall. Very good separation, clarity is too good. Soundstage is not widest but good for iem, there is width, little depth & very little height in imaging. Overall that is what sound signature I liked best, truly enjoyable

Good thing you found the vent hole because you showed it to everybody just after 15 to 25 sec of the video. Great deconstruction though. Can't wait to get the pair I've ordered. I'm not going to take it apart though. I will enjoy listening to it.

I love this set. A bit to much on the 8 k. But the noozle filter from olina does the job well.

Cool! FH3 is my top IEM. I very wanted to know its inside, but I don't have the money nor the technic to do so.

Nice. Well I'm glad you enjoyed it. I loved the FH3, I think it is what really got people into fiio iems as a reputable name in iems. They kinda dropped the ball with the FH5S and a couple others but for the most part I hear they are good.

12:38 I have been following your channel and the teardowns since late 2022 and am re-watching this video. It seems this gem was never designed for service. Not sure about the state of that MMCX socket but it looks destroyed at this point. That's fun. Hope someday you're also able to take apart a FD5 or a (flagship) FD7. I have both and am curious to see how do they look inside, specifically their DD drivers. Cheers.

The FH3s 5k & 8k peaks were too much for me. I had to send them back. Great tear down and review.

@ApolloMoonLandings what dap you use. The legacy 2 in mids and treble is fine. Just the volume. I like blasting my ears. And the mid bass. With an eq is fine. Still with a 35mw dap it sounded weak to me

If someone is interested in an better tuned FH3, get the FHE tuned by Crinicle. But the treble remains sharp but more in the 3K region. I enjoy it quite a lot for making music (bass and piano) they compared pretty good to some high end iems from 64 audio.

U can upgrade FR with the final Etype tips quite a bit (those peaks). BTW will there be a full review of the FH3 someday?

Nice. Yeah you can also add that filter too, it actually works really well. Unfortunately I will probably not do any review of the FH3.

Hi 🙂, 7:30 you are taming highs right? so why not to use olina, tanya or oxygen filters (all around 400-430 grade) or any of the 400 grade filters and cover the whole nozzle diameter? DD is doing only bass anyway... or would be any difference in the results there?

28:33 and there goes the confirmation of the design. I think they were inspired on turbochargers seen in the auto industry. How this reflects on audio quality? That's likely the 1M dollars question. 🤷‍♂️

I've seem a number of people criticize the DD used in the FH3. Never got these, the FR graph looks wonky IMO.

Isn't fh3 dd is 10mm ? Not 10.4mm. I am in search of replacement and cant anddrstand which one should i order 10mm or 10.4mm.

Danggg... you know what I actually used to own the KATO and I've seen the driver but I don't have any pictures of it. If I can pick up a broken pair for cheap I would definitely take them apart.

Im sorry to hear that. It sounds like the vent it plugged up. Maybe too much sweat got Inside?

@@hi-friaudioman yeah that was exactly the problem, i fixed it by drilling a hole in the middle of be iem. it was gone, but so was the bass. so i used auto eq to make it sound like the sony ie300 and now it sounds good.
