The Forge actually has a little more power than a 12ah. Torque Test Channel did a video and it has about 13.6ah power. The best thing about the battery is that it has double the life time. It can be charged 2000 times compared to 1000 of the other 6ah

Why would you be using a big 6.0 on an impact driver to begin with? Impacts don't need a lot of power to make power, usually have 2.0,3.0 or 5.0 at highest on mine. Either way the Forge does have great output if you watch some test videos.

Is this just a change from 18650s to 21700s? 21700 cells can output 40+ amps for some of them. They run cooler, and have a higher capacity. Very little technical information in the video.

No its not, the 5.0 m18 cost exactly 50% , so you can buy 2 batteries for one, so when you work you have 1 battery in use, and one in the charger so 0 waiting time between switching battery. With the Forge you charge up faster but you have to wait still and it only charges fast until it gets to 80%

Firstlu,8.0s and 12.0s aren't designed for use on a little impact driver, and won't give much more of anything beneficial over a 6.0. The 5.0s are outdated 18650 batteries and are all but given away at this point. Of course 21700 cells are more powerful , charge more efficient, last longer, and have more "umpth" at the expense of a bit of size/weight; well worth it in my opinion. But a little driver like that was never intended to carry an 8 or 12 as there's no real benefit from using one in that application. Stick that 12 in your job light, and a 6 or cp3.0 on that impact driver- be happy lol. Also those 8/12 are notorious for dropping cells giving the dreaded 3 BAR. so ypu really shouldn't be buying them at this point at ALL. old news, old tech, forge is 100% the way to go

@@histguy101 I work in the RV industry for quite some time. I'm sure unless you live in northern Indiana where 90% of RVs are built you would have no idea what goes on. It's incredibly fast paced . You build 20 to 40 units a day and with my gen 3 drill and impact I was almost always able to make it through an entire day with the single battery each. My drill wasn't used as heavily as it used to be when I was doing air and hydraulic suspensions on brand new ambulances but a the 3.0 High outputs are usually sufficient. Plus they're very Compact and give you the same power output as a 5.0

@danielherschberger6424 I worked in the RV industry, building them. In Northern Indiana 90% of all RVs in the United States are made there. You're paid rate and oftentimes you're expected in your area to complete 20 to 40 units a day . However I did used to install hydraulic and air suspension on ambulances and yes did drill through those frames I would probably use a 5.0 or a 6.0 due to the amount of drilling through heavy metal most people on a daily basis don't need to use anything more than the 3.0 high output. I find it to be the perfect battery in almost every instance for a half inch drill and impact

@danielherschberger6424 so obviously, you would think that a contractor would have more than 1 3.0 on the job site. I keep 4 of the 3.0 on me, and I have 4 of the 6.0 on me and 2 of the 12.0 batteries with me. Look. I also have a few of the 12v tools, which, when you are hanging a Chandelier. I use my Is Cabinet installation drill because it is the Lightest drill that I own, and it holds bits.
