The 34 with a Surefire X300 frame weight is just such an aesthetic vibe.... Honestly though, there are very few people who are on the same level of shooting as Ben, I don't think mere mortals would really notice a difference in accuracy or shootability with longer slides if they're running a dot. Just run what you brung and what makes you happy.

I have 47, and 19 gen5, had 17 gen4 previously and even BUL Axe cleaver. I dont have much experience, I shoot over 3 years, but must say 47 has the „niecest” recoil impulse from modern glocks. Tested plenty of 45’s and 19x and 47’s heavier slide gives a bit of a difference to a 19 recoil spring. 5000 shots so far, just changed connector to glocks „-„ I really like it and can recommend to a beginner as a nice gun to shot. Regards Ben, all the best from Poland.

Weigh all the slides when you get a chance, believe they’re all pretty much the same weight. I know back in the days of gen3, all 9mm slides weighed the same. 40 slides went up in weight though, 35 was more than 22, 24 was significantly more than both

Most of the Glock shooters at the Carry Optics Nationals are using a 17 or 47 and doing well.
@IvanRiveraStagea24 күн бұрын
It also makes sense if they plan on joining world shoots. The Glock 34 is not in IPSC's list of allowed pistols for use in Production Optics. The shooters would have to go down to the 47 or the 17 to compete in the equivalent division internationally.

You should pick a G45 over a G34 because the shorter slide makes the draw faster. At least that’s what I was recently told by a clown in Paul Howe’s comments section. Those theoretical thousandths of a second really add up! Lol
@swiftaudi24 күн бұрын
It also cycles faster. All is true but not necessarily enough to make anyone significantly better with a red dot.
@EuropaChronicles24 күн бұрын
@@swiftaudi it’s one of those things that’s technically true but won’t ever show up on a timer. We aren’t robots, the difference between multiple runs will always be orders of magnitude greater than the difference in draw time and cycle rate with a shorter slide.
@swiftaudi23 күн бұрын
@@EuropaChronicles I agree. I will say I can notice with a time a difference in draw time going from my carry piece which is the size of a G19 to my competition gun that’s closer to a G17 with an x300 both carried from concealed appendix. The shorter over all lengths makes a difference. I agree it’s not enough to make me change my setup though. Id rather carry what I shoot well with rather than carry something small because i draw faster. In USPSA the difference is even less because there aren’t a whole lot of static draws.

People told me I was crazy. Shooting the 19, 17, and 34 back to back really highlights how much better the 19 was in consistently returning on target. Never shot a 45 or 47, but I also feel like the 19 grip locked in better and I didn’t need to grip as hard. I honestly feel like the 19 is the most competitive Glock when using red dots and G17 mags.
@UrbanDefenseSystems24 күн бұрын
That's due to your hand size and/or shape. The worlds best Glock shooters all tend to gravitate towards the 34/35, and the 17s. Rarely does anyone, if ever, choose a G19 for competition. And I'm inclined to personally agree with you btw. I shoot my G19 better, but we're kinda the odd one's out.
@JA-oo9qp23 күн бұрын
@@UrbanDefenseSystems I think that has more to do with 1. Monkey see, monkey do 2. The G34 pushes hand loads faster so you can have lower powered gamer rounds 3. It was logical before optics and has carried over ala Ben in this video. 4. The full size grip has the advantage of never pinching your hand 5. The full size grip feels noticeably more comfortable in my hand, but the 19 seems to offer a benefit when actually shooting. I’d have to try the 45, 47, and 49 for a completely autistic comparison. I was most surprised the G34 was less shaky than a G17. Same triggers in all guns btw.

My useless opinion: I thought the G47 was a dumb bureaucratic pistol, created to make parts supply easier and give “moar modularity” but after shooting a 19, 17, and 34 back to back I no longer say that. The 19 was the easiest to control at speed, but the surprise was the 34 was better than a 17, less seesawing. So maybe the 19 recoil spring with the extended slide in the 47 makes the 19 shoot even better the way adding an extra half inch on a 17 somehow made it more stable.

Why a G47 over a G17? Does the G19 RSA in the full length G47 give a better recoil impulse compared to a G17? The only reason I could see getting a G47 is to run my G19 slide on it, which is a big deal in fact (and to not have to stock two different RSA’s). But are there shootability differences between the G47 and G17? The reason I’d like to have a G17/47 length barrel, compared to a G45, is to make sure I make Minor in the USPSA 😊. Beyond wanting a few more fps, the G19 is out because I shoot the full size grip much better. Lastly, Do you guys find a difference in presentation between a milled and MOS Glock? I’ve been getting them milled and I’m wondering if running an MOS unit (w a FCD plate for example) is going to throw me off based on the higher position of the optic when placed on an MOS gun.
