Gavin Messaros yeah because that's I good idea. kids shouldn't be able to play tackle until they are at least in 8th grade and up. It's just pointless... all they do is hand it off to the biggest kid on the team and no one learns anything. Flag football is the way to go for kids.

What is funnier is that for some reason a Kid who is being Dragged while holding onto the flag the ref did not see any problems with that. Football, by definition, doesn't prohibit the use of the hands to touch / carry the ball. *Football* noun foot·ball \ˈfu̇t-ˌbȯl\ -- Any of several games played between two teams on a usually rectangular field having goalposts or goals at each end and whose object is to get the ball over a goal line, into a goal, or between goalposts by running, passing, or kicking The difference lies in how each of the different variants - Association Football, Australian Rules Football, Gaelic Football, Gridiron Football, Rugby Football, etc - has chosen to promote or limit how much or little a players may touch or carry the ball with their hands. With Association football (AKA soccer) being the most restrictive, penalizing the use of hands by most players in most situations - inbound passing and goalies being the biggest exceptions. The least restrictive use of hands is in Gridiron Football (AKA North American Football), which (primarily) only limits who can touch the ball (in all manners) immediately prior to the snap, after which time there are very few penalties for touching / carrying the ball with your hands; with legal target rules as an example of an exception to the touching rule. Most other variants fall somewhere in between, often requiring players to pass / punch / kick the ball after a pre-determined amount of time, steps, or other factors. Another interesting (to me) thing is that the shape of the ball is NOT determined by how liberal / restrictive the hand / foot rules are.. Association Football uses a round ball which (as already stated) has restrictive hand use rules while Gaelic Football also uses a round ball *which resembles a volleyball) but has fairly liberal hand touch rules for example. Rugby and most other non-Association Football variants use a "prolate spheroid" or "egg-shaped" ball with the difference primarily being size and how pointed the "tip" of the ball is (Rugby Union's almost elliptical ball versus the very pointed Gridiron ball for example). Lastly, I find it interesting the the English coined the term 'Soccer' around 1863 and its use in Britain didn't start to decline until the late 1960's; but now claim no ownership of the name whatsoever. A Brief History of the word Soccer: As is common in many sports, players give the game a nickname, and in England around this time it was common to add -er to the nickname. Colloquially this is attributed to early players calling themselves a "Rugger" to mean Rugby Player and "Assocer" to mean Association Player and the term "just stuck" as a description of the whole game. Legend also has it that Charles Wredford Brown, an Oxford student around this time, was asked if he fancied a game of Rugger, to which he responded that he preferred Soccer instead.
